Looking for Scenic Place to Take Family Photos in Woodlands/Spring/Conroe Area

Does anyone know of a pretty park or scenic area where I can go to take pictures of my kids? I was wanting a park with a pond or a field with flowers. I know that there are a lot of places in The Woodlands with blue bonnets this time of year but the only ones I know of are along the sides of major roads and I don't feel comfortable putting my kids in possible danger for a pretty picture.

Sorry it took so long to respond-- I've been out of town.. take the family to the Arboretum off of Aldine Westfield.. It's between Cypresswood and 1960... There are 2 entrances and you will want to take the one to the east of Aldine Westfield. That is the side that has all of the flowers and stuff... If you have never been.. pack a picnic because the kids will want to stay and look.. if you have time, look on their map and take them to the bamboo forest.. it's really neat.. make and afternoon of it. I had my engagement pics done with my 8 year old kids from a previous marriage.. they turned out beautiful!! Have fun!

If you are going down Research Forrest Drive from I-45 before you get to Gosling there are streets on the right hand side of Research Forrest you can go down that have beautiful ponds, fountains etc. This is a popular place for high school kids to go and have pictures taken before dances and I have taken my kids there for holiday pictures (we weren't the only ones there doing it either). Unfortunately I do not know the names of the side streets, but it is after Sonic and around where the Starbucks is , if that helps. It is in an industrial area. Drive around back there and you'll find it.

Mercer Arboretum in Spring is a wonderful place to take pictures and yes, you can have a professional photographer there. There are so many different spots within the park, we had our family photos taken there and they turned out beautifully!! I would definately try and go before the humidity really sets in though. :)

Fellowship of the Woodlands Campus is beautiful, with gardens and fountains and well you have to see it to believe it. A lot of folks from church take family pictures their near the fountains in the circle. Check out www.fotw.org for directions.

They are having a huge Easter weekend so I would not try this Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Although you would be most welcome to attend, they have 13 services and 3 easter egg hunts over the three days. There is more info on the site.

Check it out and God Bless you!

There is a new park in the Woodlands called Rob Flemming Park located in the Village of Creekside Park. There is a Blue Bonnet hill in the park with thousands of blue bonnets. I took pictures of my girls in the blue bonnets earlier this week.

Here are the directions:
Take I-45 to Woodlands Parkway. Continue on Woodlands Parkway until you get to Gosling. Make a Left heading South on Gosling. Continue over the long bridge. Creekside Park is the first right after the bridge. Once you make the turn, you will take the next right. The park will be on the left.

I hope that helps and don't forget the camera!

Try Burroughs Park. It is in the Tomball area, west of I45 and north of FM 2929. It is a large park and has wooded areas, picnic areas, playground areas, and a lake. I haven't lived in the area for 5 years, so I don't know what it looks like now, but then it was always well maintained. My daughter's high school cross country team used to go out there to run and it was wonderful. You might want to take a picnic and make a day of it. It is (was) also quiet. I always considered it the best kept secret in the county!

There is a new park called Rob Fleming in Creekside. Creekside is off of Gosling as you are going south out of The Woodlands. In the park their is a large field and at the far end there is a smaller field of bluebonnets. This is were we are going to do our bluebonnet pictures. Hope this helps.

The Mercer Arboretum is beautiful. We have used that area several times. It is on Aldine-Westfield. Also check with some of the local churches.

We got our engagement pictures taken at Mercer Arboretum on Aldine Westfield. Since then many of my friends have used that place to get their family pictures taken. There is a pond, a bamboo garden, flowers, benches, archways, bridges, etc. Lots to work with. Here is a link so you can get the directions, etc. GOOD LUCK!

Hi,

I go to a place that I think will fit what you are looking for. It is on Aldine Westfield. If you go down 1960 towards Humble, turn left on Aldine Westfield. About 2 miles down on the right will be a library and the Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens. It is a BEAUTIFUL place and I could spend all day there. There is another place called Jesse Jones Park on 1960 heading towards Humble. Jones Park does alot of stuff for kids too. www.hcp4.net/jones

Jesse Jones Park & Nature Trail
20634 Kenswick Drive
###-###-####

Mercer Arboretum
22306 Aldine Westfield Road

Hope this works out for you. I don't think you will be dissapointed with either one.

We live off Rayford/Sawdust and our family and several of our friends go to the Mercer Arboretum and Botanical Gardens for the 'perfect picture spots'. It is free to go through the arboretum and it is absolutely gorgeous and SAFE! There are also nature trails and a play area so it is also a fun place to picnic and just enjoy the day! Their website is http://www.hcp4.net/mercer/index.htm
It says that it is in Humble but it is really not far at all.

In Spring go to the Mercer Aboretum park off of Aldine Westfield. It is full of flowers. We had our wedding pictures taken there. Take extra batteries! Off of I45 take 2920 exit, turn towards old town springs. At the 1st light make a right. Next light make a left. Turn right on Aldine Westfeild. You will pass an HEB in the left The park is on the left hand side not to far after the HEB. On the right hand side is a park to play at.
