We always use Gentle Giant. They're not the cheapest, but they are extremely professional and can even pack your things for you if you'd like. And they are giants! :)

Call Ferrick Brothers Movers in Haverhill, MA. My husband used them when we got married. They were excellent. Professional. They had to move some pretty hefty items from a third floor attic-space condo down a narrow winding staircase. Not a scratch on anything!

We loved Gentle Giant. I think they have offices in multiple places including Somerville MA and Wilmington MA

Gentle Giant. I've moved twice with them. Recommended them to friends and family a number of times. All happy clients. Not the least expensive. You get what you pay for with movers. Not to mention most of their staff are college or former college athletes. Often very cute ;-)

I am a huge fan of Gentle Giant. We used them when we moved from Boston to the Northshore. They packed everything up for us and dealt with all kinds of issues we ran into like bad weather on moving day to a fire alarm in our apartment building that shut down the elevators. I cannot say enough good things about them. Very professional and no swearing or inappropriate language - I was mostly the person using inappropriate language. I have moved so many times I have lost count and everytime there was always something that went wrong but not with these guys. Nothing was broken and they would stand patiently holding heavy furniture while I figured out where to put it. I even wrote a letter about the crew to their manager and I am not usually one for doing things like that but I felt that they were so above and beyond great that I had to tell management.

I'm not sure if they will do a local move in the North Shore/South Shore areas, pretty sure they will... but we were moved here across country by Castine Movers. They are located in Eastern Mass. The move was provided by my husband's employer, so I don't have any idea about their prices. But I have to say... I have moved, on average, every two years my entire life (I'm 48 - that's a lot of moves! ) They are BY FAR the BEST moving company I have every dealt with. They were incredibly communicative during the entire moving process. The driver and crew were respectful, helpful and careful. They went well above and beyond what was required of them. I truly do not have the words to speak highly enough about them.
