Everyone in this dental office seems very nice and the dentist very qualified. Has anyone had a child go thru fillings, crowns or IV sedation with them?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We found 2 very wonderful pediatric dentists in the area! Dr. Andrea Gonzales in Flower Mound and Dr. Linda Steele in Coppell. I would highly recommend either one! We went to both doctors for 2nd opinions and were amazed by the difference in office procotol and how well my clingy 2-year old responded to them both! They both took time to win my daughter's trust before checking her teeth and were much more conservative in their approach. They personally explained her dental needs and treatment details instead of leaving it to an assistant to cover. They both allowed me to go back with my daughter for her check-up and they do not restrain children during treatment. Thank you all for your help!!!!

Do not go there...Stop for the love of your child. I took my son there a couple of times. The last time, he was playing video games waiting for the dentist by the "procedure room" we could hear him yelling at some kid to stop. He was condescending to me. Saying that if Aaron gets anymore cavities I might as put dentures in his mouth. He yelled at this little boy who had already a lot of work done. The kid knew if he sticks him with the sharp tool it is going to hurt. My ten year old football playing son said, "Mom, I feel bad for that kid. He was just scared." He knew that he didn't deserve to be yelled. The hygenist told me not to let Dr. Haider see me mother him too much. Sorry, I don't check the mama card at the door anywhere. Dr. Haider said Aaron five cavities...FIVE. I decided that Aaron was going to a different dentist to fill those cavities...Oh wait! He doesn't have any cavities. I took the same x-rays from Haider's office to his new dentist. Stay away! I do not recommened him at all. You children deserve better. My kids go to Children's Dental Care in Coppell. Dr. Alvarez is so sweet and she made my high strung daughter feel at ease. Switching dentist is the best thing I did for them.

I hope everything works out for you and your kids.

Thanks!

I agree with the other two posts, don't go there. We went there and while I really liked the hygenist, Dr. Haider and his policies were awful. They said my daughter had a cavity, when we went in to get it filled, they wouldn't allow us, the parents, back. She was only 3 1/2! They then said they were going to put a "blankie" on her. When I asked what that was they told me basicly they strap her down under a board so she can't move! It was awful. I decided we were not going to have her work done there and I took her to our family dentist and guess what...she doesn't have a cavity! It was an awful experience and I would highly recommend finding another dentist.

Looks like the other responses are guiding you in the right direction. I had taken my oldest there years ago. Their policy of not letting more than one person in back is troublesome as a mother. Even with a first in the morning appointment, we were stuck waiting there for an hour before being seen. Once my second was born, most of that time they wanted her in the back playing with toys without me present. My daughter had a tooth injury from a fall at 2 1/2, and after the trauma of having that fixed, the last thing we needed was a long wait. I didn't think Dr. Haider gave us any treatment my daughter didn't need and he was very good about answering my questions. I hated the office policies, high staff turnover, and staff rudeness. I just didn't have a good feeling there. Now that I'm going to a great place, I would definitely tell parents not to go there.

We know go to Frisco Dentistry for Kids and LOVE it!!! Dr. Kelli and Dr. Ty are the best. Their staff is friendly and extremenly sensitive to helping your child have a positive dental experience.

Wherever you end up, if you don't feel comfortable, follow your gut and leave. In hindsight, I wish I had.

Good luck!

Don't go there! Everytime we went, "something" was in dire need of fixing. They "fixed" my daughters baby teeth (that fell out a few months later) without even asking me! They are out for money!!!

Wow I am surprised to read all these reviews about Dr.Haider.

When my four year old had six cavities, Dr.Haider showed me an x-ray of it along with intra-oral camera. His treatment plan coordinator, Nicole, explained to me in detail my options of treatment. IV sedation was the best solution but due to my financial condition I opted for Non IV conscious sedation in which my son would be more relaxed and calmer. After the procedure, Dr Haider told me that he cried in the beginning but did well.

I have been going there for the last two years and am very happy with the staff and the Dentist. I highly recommend this office to all my friends and family.

We love Dental Care 4 Kids in Flower Mound. Dr. Wickersham and Dr. Gonzales are husband and wife. They are so sweet and gentle with the kids - and their staff is very well trained to manage kids in a kind manner, never pushing a child to do what they are not ready to do. I overheard one of the dentists telling a parent they never restrain a child to get something done. All the patients (kids) always seem happy and excited to be there. I know my kids are always excited to go.

D., I actually just temped there on Wednesday for the first time as a hygienist (since I was off from my regular job the whole week). I will never go back there. He and the staff were friendly but I didn't like how many children were scheduled on my side and even his side was pretty crazy and intense. When I have worked at pedo offices in the past, I am usually allowed more time with the patients. The patients are basically treated as cattle and this goes for a lot of regular adult seeing practices as well. You have to watch out for this....If they take every insurance plan under the sun, then they have to have high number of patients scheduled so they make any money....when dental offices are in network with insurance companies, they have to agree to write off a lot of what they treat. This doesn't make for a usually good experience because the dentist and staff are rushed which then your are not getting top notch treatment. I see patients coming in to see me that have had work done at places like this and they didn't get good work and some has to be replaced and so on. I would rather pay more out of pocket and see a qualified dentist who can answer your questions but make you and your child comfortable. The main reason I won't go back is because I could hear children screaming and crying as I would walk past the closed door. The great thing about the world we like in today is that there are drugs (kiddie coctails is what they call it or even nitrous) that can be given to make the child very comfortable as to where they don't even know what is going on or it makes them sleepy and they will just sleep through the whole process. I see way too many children and adults that have had bad experiences and probably high percentage of these could have been avoided. It makes me very angry that there are shady, uncaring, and ill-equipped dentists out there. I hope this helps and I if you need any referrals or suggestions on names you have found, I will be happy to help. Good Luck!

I agree with everyone else here. Don't go. They said my son needed a crown and a filling at the age of 3. I got a second opinion.. Dr Patrick Ryan(awesome) by Willowbend Mall. Turns out he did not need a crown just a filling and I could sit with him the whole time. The staff is friendly and he is great. Dr. Haider was unsympethetic and I did not agree with my child being behind closed doors without me. Please go anywhere else......
