Looking for Preschool with Great Teachers, Safe Environement & Strong Academics

Anyone have recommendations for preschools in the Irving (valley ranch/las colinas), Carrollton (close to George Bush turnpike) or Dallas/Plano border (75252)? Several parents and I are looking for a new preschool for our kids. The current one is ok, but the quality of care and education seems to slip as the childrren move up. Looking for structured curriculum and preferable, if there is a supply/curriculum fee, the children will have their own books, workbooks, supplies, etc.

Both of my children go to Primrose of Bent Trail. It is located on Preston, just south of George Bush, in the 75252 zip code. I absolutely can not say enough good things about this school. It is one of the few preschools that is accredited. I am amazed at the things my three year old comes home saying that he learned. He can name almost all of the bones and muscles in his body, he knows some spanish words and phrases and he has a music class every week where he gets to sing and learn about and play instruments. Most of the teachers there have degrees in early childhood development. One of the early infant teachers used to be a pediatrician and one of the Pre-K teachers has a masters in educ. Not only do they learn a lot, but they have a lot of just good 'ol fun playtime as well. My boys always look forward to going to school. The teachers are great, the kids are great, even the parents there are great. I highly, highly recommend it.

My daughter is at Primrose School - only in the INFANT room but I can tell you from what I see that I will definitely keep her there through her pre-school years. We go to the Primrose School of Old Orchard which is on the Flower Mound/Lewisville border. However, there are many in the Dallas area.

The Primrose schools have a great curriculum. My kid is reading, doing math, science - from what the Kindergarten curriculum looks like at his school next year, he will be way ahead. There are several throughout the metroplex. J.

We had a good experience at Discover and Share at Beltline and MacArthur behind the Blockbuster next to Riverchase Golf Course area.

We have LOVED Parker Chase in Carrollton--they are like our second family--so warm and compassionate and the turnover is extremely low--the teachers love it there and have all been there for like forever!! Please check it out--I wouldn't go anywhere else! Their phone # is ###-###-####.

My 2-1/2 year old daughter is enrolled at First Place Early Childhood Development/Mom's Day Out in Carrollton & she and I both love it. The teachers are caring and compassionate, as well as competent. Class to teacher ratio is outstanding & the director is a gem. If you are wanting a faith based program, I highly recommend you contact Lisa O'Rear at ###-###-#### if you are interested. I don't know if they still have space available for the fall or not, but I definitely feel that this program has benefited my daughter.

We have LOVED Spanish Schoolhouse. There is a North Dallas location at Hillcrest and Arapaho. I tell everyone that we started going for the Spanish and now that is just a bonus for us. Amazing cirriculum, the kindest teachers and the most organized staff. AND it is also tons of fun!!

I worked at Prestonwood on Miday and Plano. They have a great curriculum. I taught the 2 years olds when I was there and sent three of my kids there.
Good Luck, L.
