Looking for Preschool and Daycare

My daughter turns 4 in April and I need a daycare that is also a great preschool. I really would like her academics to be strong before entering Kindergarten. I feel like most of the daycares don't spend enough time on academics. I really would like her to learn some phonics. The Kindergarten I'm going to put her in is very academic and phonics based. Any ideas? I live on the corner of Lindsay and Williams Field in Gilbert.

What can I do next?

You can check out www.mini-skool.com. In Calif, they were called Phoenix Schools, expensive but very academic.
Then on Warner/Cooper is Tutor Time. We had our son there for a month and pulled him out because well he has autism and they wouldn't do much for him if he didn't show interest. But every kid is different and yours might do well there. Then there's Kindercare on Ray/McQueen, we took our son there for 1 day free trial day. It seemed great but we opted to do Tutor Time. Then there's Sunrise Preschool, but because he needed specific insurance to be covered there, we couldn't put him there. Since he has to get outside therapies from his preschool, then, we have to wait on daycare.

But, check out La Petite Academy too. I'm not sure what else is around Gilbert but Mini Skool looked very nice.

Good Luck!

It's not really close to where you are but I teach at Bethany Learning Center (101 and Guadalupe)- We have a great program there and we offer extended hours (7 am- 6 pm). We are very "standards" based but at the same time take a developmental approach to learning. We have a set of core knowledge objectives/standards on which we base our curriculum. I would say we have a good balance of phonics and whole language type activities. I am a former elementary teacher and I feel like it is a quality program there. It is a Christian preschool as well. I live in Gilbert and commute there and it's really a quick trip now that the 202 is open. Hope this helps.

I had 2 of my children in a montessori pre school and they did very well there. My 5th one went to a charter school at 4 she did not make the cutoff of 5 by end of August so she did a year of kindergarten there then went to public school. The charter school also had a pre school program but it is in south scottsdale. They did use a phonics based program at the charter school. Not much help if you want the names let me know.

i checked out montissori schools for my daughter and they are great. the price is also about what u would pay a day care

What school are you thinking of putting them in....I live on Chandler and Gilbert so I am wondering if we are going to the same place?

Hi R.- check out www.handsfullconcierge.com I am not sure if they would have the hours you are looking for, but both of my children have attended this in home "academy." Mrs. Jenna is the most amazing, talented, creative being who teaches whole brain learning. I, among other parents who have their kids there, cannot say enough good things about what our children learn and I truly think they have a real head start before they enter kindergarten.
