Looking for Playgroup in Clairemont Area/feedback on Parent Connection

Looking for a playgroup in the Clairemont area of San Diego. Interested in Parent Connection as well. Does anyone have any feedback on Parent Connection? Is it worth joining?

What can I do next?

I have been a parent connection playgroup member since my 4 year old was born, and it has been a wonderful experience, well worth the small membership fee.

Hi R.-

I joined the Parent Connection and got a lot of value out of it. I think I joined it in 1998 and stayed in it until 20047. I already had a playgroup through my Lamaz class with my first child but went to many of the seminars and workshops. I also used to get my Del Mar fair tickets and coupons through them because they have a hugely reduced rate. I miss that!!

Hi R.,
Parent connection is a WONDERFUL resource,
I highly recommend them-I'm a mom with teens now, and I
joined them way back when my kids were little...also they have a great mom-support lecture series,
I am not affiliated with Scripps, but recently did a lecture for them....they are really there for people, with social and ed. support.
log onto www.scripps.org and check it out!The nurse Pamela Negata runs the connection.
Also, I have Fitness Resources for MOMS...which I created to solve my own problems (weight gain, strength loss, time challenges...)and then friends wanted to learn my program...
I'm a Clairemont mom too,
check out www.BenchFit.com
and Exercise Pearls for New moms-booklet
...I have free open-house sample classes outdoors 2x a month if you are interested,
Health and Blessings,
M.
ps I know some teens for babysitting FYI-mine and others...

I have been a member of a Parent Connection playgroup since my daughter was 7 weeks old. Totally worth it! For $20 a year, you get access to all of their playgroups, an online member page, monthly newsletter, and multiple discounts. Our playgroup is for children born late 06 through mid 07 and includes families from UTC, Clairemont, and PB. We do a lot of fun things including a monthly Mom's Night Out in addition to our weekly playgroup. Good luck!

Hi R....I live in the Clairemont area and am interested as well. I have a 20 month old son and was thinking the same thing. It's hard because we have a lot of friends...but they do not have kids :) !!

look in the phone book for mommy & me groups, the red cross may also know about your area, I am inj the Chula Vista area, but i can do some checking for you, if you would like to send my your e-mail I can send you what ever i find out. J.

Hi R. ~ We have been members of the Parent Connection since '02. I would definitely recommend joining. They have everything from free parenting seminars, discount tickets to Disneyland/Legoland/Disney on Ice, etc, as well as a gigantic playgroup database that is set up based on the age of your child, area where you live, as well as specialty groups (adoptive parents, hiking parents, working parents, etc). You will definitely meet some wonderful friends for yourself and your child thru this organization, should you choose to join.
Hope this helps -Suzanne
