Looking for Pediatric Ophtalmologist
I am looking for a pediatric ophtalmologist in Downers Grove/Darien/Woodridge/Lisle/Naperville or surrounding area. My baby has a blocked tear duct, had undergone a probing 2 weeks ago but it came back. I called the doctor, he was supposed to call me back but never did.
My possibilities are limited since I have an HMO but I might try.

I take my son to Dr. Osterlie. She has been very helpful with my 3yr old's eye problems. She is out of Wheaton eye clinic. She also works out of the Dupage medical group which takes my humana hmo.

I just took my 13-month old to Dr. Michael Kipp at the Wheaton Eye Clinic. He was very thorough and very good at giving him a quick, painless exam. The Wheaton Eye Clinic has other locations in Naperville and Hinsdale, I believe. Their number is toll free in Illinois (800) 637-1054. Hope this helps. Good luck!

We use Dr. Kipp at Wheaton Eye Clinic. There is a Naperville office located on Ogden Ave. He is great. Our son has had two (successful) eye surgeries with him. And, our son is two and a half.
Good luck.

Hi N.,
We've really like Dr. Janice Lasky, from Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She has office hours in Westchester, which isn't too far from D.G. and she is worth the drive! She also practices with a partner (I can't remember her name) she is also fantastic.
My son has some vision issues and the original peds opth. we visted at a different practice misdiagnosised not only his prescription (he wears glasses now) but also some other serious things that Dr. Lasky found. We really like her and more importantly, trust her!
The number is 1-800-KIDS-DOC, and you ask for an appt. with Dr. Lasky. The office is totally set up for kids, being a satalite for the children's hospital. The only thing I've found bad is that sometimes the wait is long (although it has gotten better the last few times we've gone).

My son has CVI (a Cortical Visual Imparement) and we have been seeing Dr. Patricia Davis since my 22 month old was 4 months. She has an office in Naperville and works out of Loyola (Maywood) on Fridays. She has a good bedside manner and wants to help and support us also. We like her very much. I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

Ask your child's pediatrician for a referral, or contact your HMO directly for a referral.

Hi N.,
One of my clients had to take her daughter for the plugged tear duct surgery. Her daughter is 9 months old.
Here is the info from her.
I love our Pediatric Ophtamologist. Her name is Dr. Lise Guay-Bhatia, (pronounced Dr. Gay) and she is with the Larson Eye Center. There are 2 offices: one in downtown Hinsdale and one in GlenEllyn. I went to the office in Hinsdale, and our surgery was at the Adventist Hinsdale Surgical Center. I have a follow up appt with her in a few weeks, but so far no issues with Taylor's eye. Not certain if she accepts HMO, we have a PPO. Nikki
