There are several books written by a successful women who has autism. She is one of the very few individuals with autism that can help explain what it's like to live with the condition. Amazon has several of her books. Her name is Temple Grandin. Hope this helps.

Hello. My daughter has a chromosome disorder with some autistic traits. We have heard so much about detoxing for mercury with kids with Autism that we tried it out on our daughter, we are still in the cleansing process, but WOW it is making a difference! I have two kids 7, 10 and they both have a form of high functioning autism. Having other poeple that know what you are going through is a big help. My kids are doing well thanks to tons of intervention. Plug in to whatever you can The school system is a good place to start usually you can get services even at age two. It does not matter your income either. Dont lose help your child can get better read read read learn all you can play therapy helped so much with my kids and programs such as early learners. In may of this year Time Magazine came out with an excellant article put planly on how the autistic brain works I dont know if you can still get it but it was one of the best I have ever read.
