Looking for OB GYN That Delivers at Baylor Plano

I am currently 14 weeks pregnant and am unhappy with my current doctor. I would really love to deliver at the Baylor Plano off Preston and 190. Does anyone know a good OB GYN that delivers there? All the doctors that I have found have been high risk doc's. I would really appreciate any input. ~ Thank you!!!!!!

What can I do next?

J. - Baylor Plano actually does not deliver babies. Sorry! They are an adults only facility. If you are looking in Plano I would opt for Plano Presbyterian as they have a NICU. You certainly don't want to use it but you want a place that has a good one if you do.

I had a similar experience & I switched Dr.'s midway. I went with Dr.Kristen Innes who was wonderful. She delivers at (Plano Presby & Baylor Frisco) I ended up delivering at Baylor Frisco & it was the best experience ever. I'm a first time mom, & I felt completley comfortable & very well taken care of!! I would say if you are not sure of the Dr. you are with now don't hesitate to change I almost didn't b/c I thought it would be too much trouble, but I think if I would not have gone with my gut & switched I would have had a very diffrent experience. Good luck & Congrats!

My husband has gone through six different surgeries in the last two years due to a car accident and has had four of them at Baylor Plano. It is a wonderful hospital so I decided to find an ob/gyn who would work out of that hospital. When I asked my husband's doctor if he new of a good one I could use that operated out of Baylor Plano, my husband's doctor said, "There's not one for Baylor Plano because this hospital is mainly a surgical hospital only."

My friend delived at Baylor Frisco and had a wonderful experience!

J., I left a message in your inbox.

We delivered at Medical Center of Plano. Not far from ther at all, on Coit and 15th. We had a wonderful experience.
I know it't not Baylor Plano, but if you decide elsewhere. Medical Center of Plano is wonderful
We used Associated Women's Healthcare OB-Group there at the hospital. Not to mention they have excellent pre-child classes for mom and dad.
Here's a link to their office if you decide to go elsewhere.

As others have posted, Baylor Plano does not have an OB dept. Baylor Frisco is not that much farther north, and I have heard that it is a wonderful place to have a baby.

I LOVE Baylor Plano, but they do not do obstetrics there, it's gyno only. Part of that hospital is cardiac care only (The Heart Hospital at Baylor Plano), but the main hospital is other "adult" specialties such as oncology, gastro, etc.

I delivered downtown at the big Baylor hospital and while it's older, it was great. I basically lived there in their Antepartum unit and the Nurses were also fantastic. Excellent hospital, HUGE selection of Dr.'s, and we wound up having a preemie and knowing that they had a top-notch NICU was an important part of my decision to deliver there, just in case. I saw Dr. Sandra Brothers and Dr. Melissa Crochet at OB/Gyn of Dallas. They do have high-risk experience but the majority of their practice is your standard normal pregnancies. Their website is http://www.obgynofdallas.com/index.htm. As for these two Dr.'s, they are a couple of fantastic doctors and outstanding human beings as well.

If you are looking to deliver in the Plano area, I have heard a lot of great things about Presby Plano or Medical Center of Plano, but I don't know any docs at either of these places personally. If you want that "hotel-like" experience that I think Baylor Plano has going on, I got a brochure recently about the Women and Children's Center at Centennial Medical Center in Frisco. That looked FANCY.

Good luck!

First, Baylor Plano isn't just a "heart hospital". My family has been there for several reasons, none of them related to the heart and a dear friend of mine had surgery there related to her cancer.

I don't think Baylor Plano has a Maternity Department. I know for sure they didn't last year and I haven't heard anything about one being added.

Congratulations!
