Looking for OB GYN in Catonsville or Columbia

I moved to Maryland from Austin, Texas a little more than a year ago. My OB GYN there was amazing and I was so fortunate to have such a great doctor for the birth of my first daughter. My husband and I are now planning on our second child, but I am still looking for an OB GYN here. My GP recommended a practice but I wasn't really pleased with them. Any suggestions of doctors in the Catonsville or Columbia areas? Anyone or any practice I should avoid?

What can I do next?

Dr. Hundley has an office in Columbia, she is from Mercy Hospital. She has been my OB GYN for years. Her office is located just off Route 100.

If you'd like a fellow Texan and don't mind a drive to Pasadena (although he's right off of MD-100), Dr. George Williamson is great!

He's an Aggie and a Red Raider!

(I forgot to mention he works out of Harbor Hospital in Baltimore.)

R.,
For my last pregnancy I went to Drs. Esposito, Mayer, Hogan & Associates in Columbia. I chose the mid-wives and couldn't have been happier!
I was extremely happy with my OB for my second child, Dr. Yadav, with Kaiser at the Columbia Gateway office. I don't know if he still (or solely) works for Kaiser, but would recommend him as well.
I was in the military for my first pregnancy, so I don't even remember than nameS of the doctors I saw.

Good luck,
K.

We go every spring for her bday. :) Anyway, I will get back to you on dr.s I use to go to a wonderful woman dr. in Columbia (near the hospital/ mall area) & I need to call my ex sister in law today & get her name. Also, my mother in law went to a Dr. Berger around Catonsville. I will check those & get back to you. Where do you live here? I have an absolutely WONDERFUL ob gyn in Glen Burnie who I would HIGHLY recommend if you are interested. Easy to find near hospital/ off Crain Hwy. Just let me know which route you prefer & I'll be in touch. How old is your daughter? We have a 3 yr old son & live in AA Co. Take care & best of luck. If you ever want to talk about Austin, let me know. We go to San Antonio every yr overnight as well. :) Take care, S.

I can recommend two practices in Columbia:

1) The St. Agnes Ob-Gyn Associates/The Women's Ob-Gyn Group (formerly Brandon, Emmerson & Hammond Ob-Gyn Associates)
http://www.beh-ob-gyn.com/

and

2) Drs. Esposito, Mayer, Hogan & Associates
http://www.drsemh.com/welcome.html

They are right across the street from each other, right by Howard County Hospital.

I've been with #1 for four or five years now, and have been very happy with them. Dr. Hammond is my Gyn, and she's fantastic. Had my son with them 12/2005 - you rotate through all OBs for prenatal care, and whoever is on call when you go in for delivery delivers - was Dr. Hammond for me. But I had a great prenatal experience with all of the OBs. A couple of my friends go to this practice too, and really like them. The switched their hospital affiliation from HoCo to St. Agnes in October 2005. I had a great delivery at St. Agnes.

A few other friends are at #2 and rave about that one as well. I believe their hospital affiliation is HoCo.

You might just want to check them both out.

I see Dr.Esposito at Drs.Esposito, Mayer, Hogan& Associates,P.A. I have been very happy there. During your pregnancy, they have in the past rotated the patient around for each monthly visit so that you see a different dr each month. I am not sure if they still do that. They have an office in Columbia and Eldersburg. If you becaome a patient at the Columbia office, you deliver at Howard County General. I have delivered three babies there and the last time I felt as if the care at the hospital had declined slightly but it was still very good. The phone number for the dr's office in columbia is ###-###-#### Good luck finding a doctor!!
