I also agree that The Melting Pot is a great place. It allows for plenty of conversation and the food is so good. Also, Ferrari's Italian Villa in Addison is a wonderful place and I think is very romantic. Its on Midway- between Beltline and Spring Valley. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food and wine is simply divine.

Hope you have a wonderful anniversary:)

I'm almost positive the place is Cafe Italia (4615 West Lovers Lane Dallas, TX 75209). My hubby took me to this Italian Resturant & it was the most wonderful place that I had been. I've been to lots of different resturants as my husband likes to get fancy with his eating out excursions!!! Anyway. The staff here is super. The food is .... my mouth is watering! The atmosphere is so sweet & romantic. Dim lighting (not too much), heavy red drapes on the walls, wood paneling, a full bar & huge wine selection.

I hope this is the right place that I am telling you about.... I'll have to ask hubby when he wakes up in the morning. I'm here on the internet w/my insomnia self while the rest of the family sleeps! OK so if I forget to follow up w/you by tomorrow afternoon - then PLEASE private message me to remind me to check w/him.... Because this place that we went was perfect for an anniversary (if you like Italian).

We go to Chamberlain's for my birthday every year. PF Changs & III Forks are excellent, too.

I have a few suggestions. Melting Pot in Addison, Perry's Steakhouse in Dallas, Nick and Sams. My husband and I have been to Melting Pot and Perry's for some anniversary dinners, but not to Nick and Sams. However several of our friends have and totally love it!

Congratulations!

I plan on going to Stephan Pyles downtown Dallas by the Dallas Museum of Art for my anniversary. The food is delicious! We did an annual luncheon there at my work and I told my husband that night that is where we're going. I had not suggested Stephan Pyles in the toss up for a new place to dine. I suggested a restaurant in the W Hotel by Victory Plaza because it looked like a real good time. I'm so glad Stephan Pyles won by a landslide. The warm, hint of jalapeno, croutons...mmm, yummy!

III Forks is not so much owned by Gene Street from what I have heard. He only owns (maybe) 15%. Smith & Wollensky is no longer in business, unless you want to drive to Houston. I know one of the chefs(who relocated to Houston) and drive past the place everyday - it's closed.

Happy Anniversary!

Ruth's Chris and Nick and Sam's. Nick and Sam's has someone playing on a grand piano throughout the night. Its sleek, classy and has a very good reputation. I love them both!

Congratulations! I will list my choices....

Del Frisco's....club atmosphere, great service, great food, My favorite

III Forks...more of a coountry/western atmosphere, great service, great food. Past owner from Del Frisco's (Dale Wamsted) opened III Forks. I think Gene Street is there now, according to last time we were there and met him.

Lawry's Prime Rib.. Love the food and service is great

Sullivan's....great food, service can be sporadic

PF Changs...Service usually good, Food good. GREAT people watching.

Newport's.....Seafood place around West End area. I've been several times, great service. Personally I do not care for seafood BUT....they made a dish especially for me when I was there. I just explained what I liked and they brought it. No complaints. Other guests at our table raved about the place.

Enjoy yourself and have fun!! We are going on 20 yrs this New Years Eve!!! Susan

I second The Melting Pot. It is a great special occasion place. Fondue is just such a fun way to eat. I also highly recommend Del Frisco Steak House down by the Galleria. Pappa Bros Steakhouse is also wonderful. Those three are my favorite, but also nice are Chamberlain's, Smith & Wollensky, and Bob's Steak & Chop House.
