Looking for Mesa/Gilbert Area OB/GYN Who Does VBAC
I had my beautiful baby girl by C-section. She was breech, and we scheduled the C. I want to have my next baby vaginally (no baby on the way yet, just a twinkle in our eyes). Though I like my OB/GYN, she does VBAC very rarely (just a couple a year). I was told it all depends on how long my labor is, because the Dr. has to be at the hospital the whole time during labor. Thus, I could very likely end up in a C-section again. I really want to avoid surgery because of the long recovery. Does anyone have an OB that will do a VBAC?

Hi T.! I am an L & D nurse so I can dispell the myth that your Dr. has to stay at the hospital the whole time...that is absolutely not true. The trick is that you have to deliver at a hospital that has a 24 hour OB Anesthesiologist on the floor and available for an emergent c-section if needed. I would highly recommend Southwest Women's Care, specifically Dr. Wilson. They deliver @ Banner Desert and are very versed in higher risk cases, including VBACs. If you don't mind traveling a bit into Central Phoenix, my personal OB is Dr. Johnstone @ Central Phx OB/GYN. She practices @ Banner Good Sam, and I can tell you personally that we do a very high volume of VBACs, many very successfully. Good luck!

I go to Comprehensive Women's Health Care in Gilbert. Gilbert/Guadalupe. I see Dr. Joel Falk. I really like him and he seems very progressive to me. So you should give him a call ###-###-####

How about Tempe? Dr Linnerson at Contemporary Care for Women did my VBAC. My little guy turned breech on his due date and Dr. Linnerson even turned him so I could have him naturally. I know it can be risky- but my DR. is top notch and all went really well for me!

Sorry I don't have a referral, but I do want to encourage you. I know a woman that had her first via c-section, then had 6 more VBAC!!! Wow! Best wishes, I hope you find one and enjoy your baby.

The second time recovering is a snap compared to the first. I had 2 c sections and 1 VBAC, I worried more about the risks involved with the VBAC than I did with the surgery. Good luck.

Dr. Linnerson at Contemporary Care For Women on Guadalupe and McClintock is fantastic! He's been my OB/GYN for 7 years and he delivered my son. His assistant, Michele, is also great. I highly recommend him. Check out their website at www.careforwomen.net. I wouldn't go to any other doctor. Good luck!

No doctor should ever perform an unnecessary procedure just to save time. That's awful. I had Dr. Goodman his office is in the parking lot of Chandler Regional. Address is south Arizona Ave Country Club and Frye. I was living in mesa at the time and it was not too far to Travel. I was high risk and he was great the entire time. My daughter was a preemie and they took excellent care of us both. The prospect of C-section never even came up because it was not necessary. Chandler regional provides private rooms and your newborn can stay with you all night. They will only take him/her away if you are sleeping and have no one else with you or for tests. I am in Phoenix and if i ever have another i think i would still go to same doc.
