My husband and I have recently moved to Leon Valley and are looking for a camp and activities for our eight year old daughter over the summer that will allow her to have fun and also challenge her academically. Any suggestions of affordable camps, schools, groups that fit these needs???

So What Happened?

Thank you very much for all your help. I did get the free magazine from HEB and ended up signing up the entire family to the Braundera YMCA. We've already enjoyed the pool and my daughter has enjoyed several weeks in there summer camp. Thanks again for taking the time to respond and help out.

You will find a free monthly magazine entitled "Our Kids" at the HEBs, Walmarts, and Jim's restaurants. These offer many suggestions for places you are looking for summer activities for your daughter.

You might try the Braundera YMCA, located inside O.P. Schnabel Park. O.P. Schnaubel Park is located at the intersection of Bandera and Braun Roads. It's just a short drive for you up Bandera Road from Leon Valley.

Look up "Camp Invention" or "Camp Imagine" and see if one is available in your area. I have signed up for it for the first time (for my daughter) so I can't give any real recommendation yet. It is definetly for academic enrichment.
