Looking for Lactation Consultant

I just moved here from California and am looking for a great lactation consultant. I'm expecting my third child in April and struggled initially to breastfeed the first two, so I'd like to be prepared. The author of "Spilled Milk", a wonderful book about nursing, lives in St. Paul and mentioned a lactation consultant named Lynn. If anyone knows how to reach her, that would be great. But I would appreciate any suggestions!

What can I do next?

Here name is Lynn Isenhart and her number is ###-###-#### and her website is basicsandbeyondonline.com. I used her as a lacation consultant with my first baby and she is wonderful. Good luck! Janelle

I'm due March 22, and am planning to deliver at United/Childrens Hospital. I've taken several breastfeeding classes there and they have a breastfeeding shop that carries lots of equipment and is staffed with lactation consultants. Most of the hospitals around here seem to be pretty supportive of breastfeeding, with on-hand lactation consultants and a daily breastfeeding class so you can bring your new baby while you're still in the hospital. Of course, I haven't had my baby yet, so I don't know about the care after your birth! And there's always La Leche League, of course! I'm sure there's an active group in your area, but if not, I've just joined the Apple Valley group, which seems very active and welcoming. You can get in touch with them through the LLL website.
Good luck!

Hi. I think I know the lactation consultant of whom you are speaking. Her name is Lyn Eisenhart and her number is ###-###-####. She will come to your house to help you and she is a doula, lactation consultant and RN. My name is J. Chin and she has given me some advice recently about my daughter, Lulu. She was one of my friend's doulas and comes highly recommended.

Hi L.
There's not too many of us "L.'s" so it always surprises me to find another one. My mom is a lacatation consultant. She works at United Hospital once a month. She is one of the best. She doesn't always know too far in advance her schedule but I could give you her email. I will ask her who else she recommends talking to at United. They have a very helpful lactation department. Let me know if you'd like to email her.

I went to a fabulous lactation consultant named Kathy who worked at the United Hospital (I believe that's the right location--it was so bad when I went to see her that I only remember how great she was!) in downtown St. Paul. They have a breastfeeding center there. Let me know if you want more info...

I would contact the hospital you are going to deliver at and ask them if they have lactation consultants there to work with you. At the hospital I work at we do and they are there almost every day to help our mothers and can do follow up consultations after discharge.
