J.. I saw your posting. Goldenrule insurance is very good. I had it when I had my daughter because my employer didnt offer health insurance. A good website to search for insurance is www.insweb.com. You can search through all different kinds of coverages and get instant quotes. I used to work for a doctor doing medical billing, and I would highly recommend their site. That is how I found my Goldenrule coverage. Their site also tells you the specifics of the policy, like whether it covers pregnancy, before you buy.

Have you checked out Kaiser? A friend of mine had to self-insure and had her son while she was insured through Kaiser.

When I was in the same situation, I researched all plans and found Kaiser to be one that was relatively inexpensive and it covered maternity as an individual. The only drawback is that you give up the right to use a broader network of physicians and hospitals. Good luck!!

Medicaid will cover the entire pregnancy. I had it to cover my pregnancy because I was in a similar situation

I have Blue Cross Blue shield and they covered me and my son. It sucks on him now though. It has a limit on how much they will pay out each year on him so that is it's only down fall.

My Friend had to look around too and she only found one... I believe it was either United Health Care or Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield.

You can get on rider insurance, you have seen the AFLAC commercials. It has worked great for people in my family. If you want a name and number, let me know. I know a guy that strictly does supplemental insurance.

Medicaid will cover pregnancy, you can go to any planned parenthood location to get it.

I work in the medical field, and I am also "uninsurable" (whatever that means!) If you want to have an additional child, I think it is reprehensible to obtain Medicaid simply for the sake of having it pay for you to have a baby. Those funds are meant to help individuals who have no means of obtaining any coverage at all. If you have been DENIED health insurance, then COver Colorado has to cover you, with no preexisting conditions. You may find, however, that you are better off paying out of pocket for your maternity care, and staying with your current insurance.

Medacaid. CHIP. I know, I know, there are sooo many people that have to swallow pride when it comes to asking for state aid. But, wouldnt' you do anything for your unborn baby/ children? Also call Baby Your Baby Hotline (800) 826-9662.

Also, you may not qualify for Medacaid at this point, but you can always reapply and the will go back for the last 60 days. But, I recommend you start with the above number. They are great with all the resourceful tips you need. Be open. Be honest. And take care!

PS Although some families are "over the limit" typically for Medacaid a woman may qualify while she is pregnant and for 2 months following.

What about your husband's insurance? Or, you can do an independent Kaiser coverage and it covers maternity... just a thought..
