Looking for Infant Playgroups

I am having a baby this summer and wondering if there are any playgroups for new moms and infants. I am in the Brookline area.

What can I do next?

Hi S., congrats! I had my oldest daughter in July!! This is such a special time for you. Anyway, there are fabulous new mom groups at Isis Maternity, and there is one right in Brookline (there are other locations too). You can start as early as two weeks old! They run in six week cycles, I believe. When the baby gets a little older, there are tons of great developmental classes there too. I took a music class and baby sign language class with my oldest when she was a baby, and I loved them both. I highly recommend them! Good luck and enjoy, it really flies by WAY faster than you think!!

S.,

I just had a girl in March and have found that Isis Maternity and their New Beginings group to be excellent!! Mommy-baby yoga there is also excellent!! You get to meet new moms that are in the same boat you are! These classes you have to pay for but are totally worth it and they also have free groups/classes. Isis is a great resource for a new mom!! Best of luck!!!

Isis Maternity has a wonderful new moms and babies group called, "Great Beginnings." My baby is 7-months now and I get together twice a month with the other moms from my class. They have a location right in Brookline, as well as Needham, Prudential Center, and I believe one other location that I can't remember right now.

S.,

I took the Great Beginnings class at Isis Maternity and would highly recommend it. My daughter and I still meet up for a playdate with all the mom's and kids we met in this class over a year later.

Also check out Meetup.com and see if there are groups in your area. I would also check out your local library for sign alongs for 0-18 months. Our library has this and my daughter loves it.

Good luck,
L. M

Congratulations S.!I also took 2 groups at Isis (Great Beginnings and Next Steps) and would definitely recommend them. Isis is a great place, especially for 1st time moms. The Great Beginnings class is really worth it. I remember feeling really clueless when my daughter was born last
June and it was great to have a bunch of other new moms going through the same things and having the same questions. Check them out!

I don't live in the Brookline area and so don't know of any moms' groups there, but you could try searching for one on Meetup.com. I found a group in my area that way.
