Looking for Ideas

Does anyone have any idea of how I can take candles in the shape of ice cream cones and make them into a centerpiece for a baby shower? The cones will also be the favors.

What can I do next?

Thank you all for your wonderful replies.

What I have decided to do is arrange the ice cream cone candles in pink and blue children's pails. The candles are wrapped in cellophane with a multi-color tie made of ribbon which adds nice color and is festive. They really look adorable! We will place them in the center of the tables on blue and pink tablecloths (the blue pail on the pink cloth and the pink on the blue). The nice and affordable part is that they will be used for centerpieces and the candles will be the favors to be passed out to each guest. I purchased the cones and pails at Christmas Tree and the total cost amounts to just $2.79 per favor/centerpiece. The pails can be used later to store baby items like socks, etc., plus a multiple of other purposes. The expecting couple live near the ocean so the pail and shovel add another nice twist.

Thank you again.

Hi S.

You can probably try a clay pot( flowers) and an oasis used in foral arragement.and stack them in as if you were creating a floral arragement. you can stick them in to the oasis and use real or artificial flowers in the spaces to hid the oasis. Hope this helps.

AC Moore or Michaels should have molds for stuff like that.. or even candy molds might work.. make them into lollipops and stick them in foam. put the foam inside a terracotta pot and decorate the pot with paint. glue grass or shredded paper onto the foam before you stick them in to cover it.

If the cones are a similar size as cupcakes, you could go to A.C. Moore. They sell a cupcake tree so to speak.

Our girl scout troop made diaper cakes in which they rolled disposable diapers in the shape of a cake and then decorated them with various bows, ribbons and baby items. They were donated to a Boston hospital to be given to newborns.

Good luck.

Hi S.,
Have you seen those cupcake holders?? Maybe you could place them in there. The holders are shaped like a tower. Maybe you could even decorate the holder with small flowers or something..
Just a thought. Good luck.

Dear S.,
Have you tried a chocolate mold place? They may be able to help you out.

Have fun!

What about finding a galvanized looking beverage bucket (maybe at someplace like Target, Walmart, Christmas Tree Shops) and filling it with real (or fake) ice that you can then set the cones in to? Most showers are not more than a few hours, so the ice melting should not be a big problem (and certainly would not damage the candles).

WOW!! This is an interesting one....... Perhaps you could lay the ice cream cone shaped candles out on a tray or plate, with all of the cone points in the center, then in that center put something in it? What I dunno, maybe some flowers or balloons?

Or, I dunno how big these candles are, but what if you just tie them into a bunch, and place them into something like a flower pot? You could decorate the flower pots to match your theme.

Sounds interesting, you HAVE to let us know what you end up doing!!

Best of Luck
