Looking for Health Insurance - Dallas,TX

I am looking for health insurance for my daughter and I. She is currently on Medicaid and I do not have any at all. I have researched BlueCross and Blue Shield, but was wondering what other companies offer great services with low premiums? Any input would be helpful!

I have researched a few companies looking for a lower rate. We have BCBS and I have not found any other company that can offer as much as BCBS.

You should do your homework before you signup for any insurace policy, 90% doesn't offer any coverage for what's important. I am an insurance broker, I represent more than 20 carriers, however I only recommend about 4 of them due to how poor the others are in what they cover. I have pasted below 2 links, one to a CBS news report called "HAZZARDOUS HEALTH PLAN" and the second is a Consumer Reports Study called "7 Signs Your Health Plan Might Be JUNK"!I have listed below several of the companies that have contain some or all the 7 signs mentioned in the article. We have over 50 years of experience in Private Health Care, we are experts at what we do. Were happy to help you, if you choose to go it alone do your homework. Most Plans offered are JUNK plans. please review the material on the links and avoid at all cost the below mentioned companies, they offer you HUGE financial exposure when you need them to pay claims. They have NO catastrophic protection in them to cover the big medical issues that seem to always catch us by surprise. You can also take the advice of the lady who reffered Greg Hammons, he and I work together, he just like I will shoot it to you straight, no games or gimics with us.

I had to do a lot of research a while back and bluecross/blueshield is what I ended up choosing. There are others that are less expensive but BC/BS had better coverage...the only thing missing was maternity. If you are not needing "full"coverage for yourself, I would still try to go with them for your daughter and then find someone that does hospital emergency/accidental only for you.

Insurance coverage is best, if you can afford it and it covers what you need covered. But if you can't afford it or you are disqualified due to a pre-existing condition, I recommend AmeriPlan, which is a discount health plan. For only $39.95/month you can get substantial discounts (up to 80% off the usual fee) in dental, vision, prescription drugs, doctor visits, hospitalization, x-rays, lab; all specialities. You can obtain a dental plan only for you alone for as little as $14.95. It will save you a great deal of money. For more info visit www.DNShealth.net . One of my girls is on BCBS and the other is on Unicare. The one on Unicare rarely, if ever, gets sick. The issue with Unicare is that you have to call and get pre-authorization for everything, which could be a pain. Unicare started as the cheaper company, but in two and a half years, my daughter's premium has at least doubled. My daughter on BCBS has some medical issues and they cover a lot. Her deductible started out $30 higher than Unicare. However, right now it is $23 cheaper. All-in-all, I am going to switch my other daughter over to BCBS to save money and a headache of pre-authorizations, if necessary. Hope this helps. I have an authorized insurance agent who we went through. He explains what everyone covers and gives multiple quotes. He is really good and it is at no cost to you. The insurnace companies pay him basically a referral fee. He basically tells you the facts and you choose. Tell him S. Rosson referred you if you call. His name is Rhett Schack and his number is ###-###-####. He really is good and it cuts out all of the time you spend searching.

Good luck - Insurance can be tough. I've always had insurance through my company, but my experience has been Cigna is awful. I had to send multiple appeal letters to get things approved. They made me jump through hoops.

I've had great experience with both United and BCBS. Good luck.
