Looking for Good Exersaucer or Way to Entertain 5 Month Old

My son is outgrowing his floor gym, bouncer and swing. I have put him in a jumperoo a few times, but he is never happy in it very long. I think I should get an exersaucer, but there are so many ranging from $45 to $130. Any recommendations on brands, models, or what the differences are? I have been looking at KSL classifieds and Craigs list to try to get a good deal on one in good shape. Do you recommend any other forms of entertainment for this age?

My neighbor had the Evenflo exersaucer 3 in 1. Her daughter enjoyed it, but my daughter thought it was the best thing in the world. The lights, overhead entertainment, everything about it kept my baby girl entertained for longer periods than my old exersaucer. When looking for one to buy, make sure it has lots of things to explore.

Both my kids love the fisher price ocean wonders kick and crawl play gym. Now that my baby is 5 months old, I'm going to convert it to the tunnel. Here is a picture of what it looks like. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=226515...

It may sound horrible, but I will sometimes put my baby in his bumbo chair and let him watch Boo on the Qubo channel, or some other children's program, like the Baby Einstein DVD's.

Each new play station or distraction doesn't last for very long (like 10-20 minutes), so I like having several different options to keep baby happy while I get things done.

I am a mother of 2. My daughter is now 2 and my son is 5 months old.

Hello M.,

I do infant child care in my home and have been very happy with a purchase I made about 5 months ago. I was able to find a Fisher Price Intellitainer for $40 on KSL Classifieds. It is in perfect condition and is wonderful for the babies.

The main reason I like it is that the seat spins all the way around allowing them access to the 3 sides of activity toys in addition to the seat sliding from one end to the other end like a walker, but it doesn't actually move which makes it much safer. There are musical play options and it helps to teach colors, numbers, nursery rhymes etc... I have found children from about 4 months to 2 years love this toy.

Brand new they run about $70-80. Keep watchng KSL or Craigslist and I am sure you will find a good deal. Good luck.

I bought the Evenflo exersaucer for my first son and now my second baby is using it. I love it! All the little toys are removable which is nice for cleaning. I also have the evenfo highchair and the toys interchange from the saucer to the highchair. I believe I paid about $60 (not too expensive) for it 3 years ago at Walmart, so the price may have gone up a little. It has had many hours of use and is still in great shape!

I Would Recomend music and noise toys one that your baby can hold in its hands. It will give them somthing to play with when they dont feel like jumping anymore that always gave me time to do a little cleaning around the house when I was watching my aunts little girl.

I hope it works for you
