I am looking for a like new or new glider or rocker. If anyone has any suggestions where I could find a relatively inexpensive one I would appreciate your input.

What can I do next?

Congratulations on the future arrival of your little one!

In my quest, I found the absolute best value was Walmart - they have a glider w/ ottoman that retails for I think around $88. I had a son, so I bought the white one with denim fabric - not sure what other colors they offer. Everywhere else I looked, I found the glider for around 100 without an ottoman. And forget BabiesRUS! It's convenient and cute and all, but oh, how I wish I wouldn't have blown so much money on overpriced stuff there!

A good place to try for a used one is Once Upon a Child - they're a chain and I know there are a few around town. Worth it to just sit down and call each of them and ask if they have one in. Their website is www.ouac.com. Another chain to try is Kid to Kid, though I don't know their website offhand. In my experience, the resale shops don't offer really huge discounts on furniture - so don't traipse all over town wasting gas to save 20% of new, ya know? Just call 'em up and ask. Very rarely do I get someone who isn't super nice.

Good luck!

There is a really cute resale shop on hwy 121 and Coit. They sell used baby clothes and furniture. It is called Cute as a Button. I bought a wood rocking chair for my nursery at Garden Ridge. It came unfinished but I just painted it white and bought a cute pillow to match my baby bedding. It was about $40. Not including the paint. I only used the rocker for a short time with my babies so it worked out perfect. Good luck!

Target has relatively inexpensive glider, they carry Dutalier which is supposed to be a good brand. You can see them in their stores or online.

Hi D.....do you need just the glider? Or are you needing the crib and changing table? My sister-in-law is looking to sell the whole package so I wanted to check with you before I forwarded your email on to her...

Thanks...E. W.

Hi D.,
I have one that I probably need to sell. It is a Dutalier (top brand), natural wood finish, with matching ottoman. Fabric is an ivory on ivory jacquard. I would rate the condition as Very good used condition. It is 6 yrs old, barely used for 2 kids. If I remember correctly, the original combined price was about $380. I have thought about selling it for around $125-$150, but I haven't investigated what used ones are selling for (I should look on ebay). Let me know if you are interested.
