Looking for Gift Ideas!! - Cortland,IL

Hi everyone!
Rather than asking 2 separate questions, I'm just going to combine it into one!!
I'm looking for gift ideas and suggestions for 2 different occasions:
1--Any gift ideas for a brother & sister from their new baby sister?? My son is 7 and my daughter is 3. I'd like to get them a little something from the baby to give them when they come to visit at the hospital, or when we arrive at home. I've mad e acertificate for each of them that announces them being the "Big Sister" and the "Big Brother", but I'd like to do something small from the baby as well.
2--I'm looking for a gift idea for God parents. We are having our baby baptized in June & I'd like to start looking into a gift for the God mother and father. Should I get something religious?? something personalized?? I'm really not sure for this one!

Any ideas, suggestions, or input on either of these would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
J.

We gave my son a t-shirt that said "I am a big brother" on it, I made it for him and he was so proud. As for the other, are they religious? If so a cross or something like that could work, but if they are not maybe a nice picture frame, and than you could give them a picture from the christening of them with the baby to go in it.

I would go with a t-shirt from the new baby that says "big brother/big sister". That is what we are doing for our daughter when her new brother is born.
On the Godparent gift, being a Godparent myself and knowing what I would appreciate, I would suggest taking a picture of the new baby and the Godparents and then putting it in a frame. They have frames now that say "Godparent or Godmother/Godfather". I would check at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Hallmark, or Babies R Us. I know that would be a gift I would cherish forever!!!

Good luck!!!

well, I dont know about the first, since I dont think kids need a present from the baby, but as to the second, when we got our daughter baptized we got a cute baptism frame with a pic of the kiddo in her outfit for the godparents. Both of them liked them alot.

I say as far as the sibling gift keep it simple. My daughter was 2yrs old when my son was born. My daughter always loved to play ball so the new arriving brother gave her a soccer ball and she LOVED it, we still have the ball 4yrs later. So go with something simple that they really love. The Godparent gift I would suggest something with the baby's hand/foot print.

Hey J.,

1--Hand Puppets are great. This allows them to take them out and engage with the baby right away without actually touching him/her. Someone bought a few for my older son 2.5 when my younger one was born and it was great! He was played with the baby, he and daddy put on a puppet show for the baby in the hospital room and it kept him occupied while he was there.

2--It could be someting as simple as a framed photo of each with the baby. A baby shoe pendant for the godmother on a bracelet.

Hope this helps!

For the big brother & sister - what about getting a cute picture frame? Daddy or Grandma can take a picture of each of them "holding" the new baby and you can update the picture periodically as they age. You could try Hallmark or Things Remembered to have something personalized.
Or you could check out EMTanner designs (on line) and order big bro/big sis t-shirts
