I'm looking for family friendly campgrounds within 2-3 hours from Chicago. We've been to some of them in the area and I was thinking about going to the Lake Louise campground this year - we've never been there, but they have a nice beach, pool and it seems nice there, but was also wondering if anyone had other recommendations.

we like Duck Creek Campground in Wyocena, WI. going back again this summer. they have weekend activities, but if you like quiet they weekdays are pretty quiet. we enjoy the small crowds. they have a man-made lake for swimming and kids fishing. and they have a nature path/walk thing, a playground, and a small restaurant(campground owners run it) and arcade room.

We go there every summer with neighbors and a bunch of kids. It's great!

I took my hubby there several years ago and we had a great time. He is not outdoorsy at all, but really enjoyed it. It would take just over 3 hrs to get there, but you'd also have the ability to enjoy Wisc Dells if you decided to.
We stayed at Jellystone in Millbrook last summer www.jellystonechicago.com. There is also one in Amboy, IL which seems larger. We had a good tme. Plenty of family friendly activities to keep the kids entertained.
