Looking for Friends for Me and My Son

Hello, I have recently moved to the League city area about a week ago from East Texas. Basically I'm already sick of shopping and staying in the house with my almost 18 month old son. I'm just looking for someone to meet for a cup of coffee and a little mommy chat or even help finding a park! Anything woul be great!
Thanks
J.

What can I do next?

I grew up in League City.

Area parks: there is one by the train station on HWY 3 and 518 in "Old" League City. my girls enjoy running around there. There's two parks with walking trails:

Countryside Park on Bay Area between 518 and 528. Coming from 518 it's on your right.

Challenger Park on 528. If you take 45 north exit NASA and go left under the freeway. You'll pass Burlington and keep going a bit. The park is on your left and I believe there's a brown parks dept street sign on your right letting you know where it is.

Have you been to the boardwalk in Kemah yet?

There's also Bay Area park and Frankie Carter Randolph Park and Armand Bayou Nature center (I'm sure you can find all these online.)

Hi J.,

There is more than one chapter of the International MOMS Club in the League City/Clear Lake Area. The MOMS Club is a non-profit support group for mothers who are home during the day. We have playdates and field trips during the week and a monthly moms night out. Dues are only $25/year and you can attend two events before deciding whether to join.

For anyone who is interested in learning more about the MOMS club or would like to find or start a chapter in their area: http://www.momsclub.org/.

You can also search for private playgroups on yahoo groups or meetup.com. Also the League City library has storytimes for toddlers on Tuesday mornings. http://www.leaguecitylibrary.org/
