Looking for Fertility Doctor

I’m looking for a fertility doctor (and/or clinic) that has a proven record and is affordable somewhere in the valley or reasonably close. I have an amazing 3 1/2 year old daughter and have always wanted to give her a sibling. Does anyone have a doctor they know and trust? Also, does anyone know of any creative financing for fertility? I have Motion Picture insurance which doesn’t cover any infertility costs, not even blood work.

What can I do next?

I liked Dr. Brian Acacio in Glendale. he was considerate, cutting edge, and not arrogant like some of the other Drs. out there. and he helped me get pregnant!

dr banooni is amazing and does take motion picture. he has wonderful bedside manners and very down to earth. he is not located in the valley though. he is on robertson just north of wilshire but worth the drive! good luck. his number is ###-###-#### (double check with 411) located in beverly hills. i see dr rabin who is in the same office but when he's not there, i see banooni and really like him. best of luck to you.

Hi V.,
I don't know of any fertility doctors but I can recommend a good acupuncturist in Toluca Lake. Her name is Dr. Catherine Aquino and her website is www.aquinotcm.com. If you can handle IVF drugs and side effects, believe me you can handle the tiny acupuncture needles. My health has improved tremendously since I started seeing Dr. Aquino over 18 months ago. Due to internal damage I still might not be able to get pregnant but I do feel healthier overall. Also, you might want to read the book "The Infertility Cure" by Dr. Randine Lewis. She is a western educated OB/GYN who earned her Ph.D. in acumpuncture by studying in China. Excellent book. Good luck to you. My daughter is now four and although I still have not been able to conceive again I understand the pain and frustration of secondary infertility. Hang in there and best wishes to you:)

Don't know much about your particular situation. I cannot recommend a fertility doctor, but I am a student of Chinese medicine, and there are certain reasons why women don't get pregnant. I know a Chinese medicine doctor who has been successful with helping women conceive. His name is David Cohen, L.Ac., in Malibu. If you don't want to trek over to Malibu, ask him for a referral. He teaches at Yo San University, ###-###-####.

Dr. Koopersmith in Sherman Oaks. You can reach her at ###-###-####. She is the most dedicated doctor I know. Also I teach yoga for fertility. If you're interested let me know. You can e-mail me at ____@____.com. I'm up on this site too and you can see where I teach and a little about what I'm about. I hope it all works out for you. A.

We had the best experience with Dr. Yee. He is with Reproductive Partners. We saw him in Long Beach but I know they have other offices. Redondo for sure. Good luck with everything. Our son is now 13 months old and beautiful. It seems so long ago that we were going through some desperate times trying to get pregnant. Good luck!

We used Dr. Tourgeman at Huntington Reproductive Center on the westside and he was great! We were fortunate to have our son on our first try. I think that they might still be having clinical trials, which are free! We weren't eligible for the trials and our insurance didn't cover it so we ended up taking out a home equity line of credit, but he's worth every penny. HRC has lots of offices and their website is havingbabies.com. But definitely try to get someone close to you, because you are ALWAYS going in to be monitored w/fertility treatments. Good luck!

The Huntington Reproduction Center in Pasadena is who we use. I am in the middle of a cycle right now. I just had 5 embryos trasferred in on Monday. Our Dr is Dr Wilcox. I like him very much. He helped with our 11 month old daughter. Our insurance did not pay so this whole thing has been out of pocket. We found great drugs from overseas that have worked great and saved about 1200.00.
IVFMeds.com. They also have offices in Tarzana but I do not know the Dr's there. Good Luck!!!

The dr I used was in the South Bay, so can't help you then. But as far as the $$, we used our equity line for our IVF cycles because our insurance didn't cover it either.

Also, have your regular ob/gyn do all the pre-testing (blood, urine, ultrasound, etc.) and the insurance will then cover it. Have your meeting with the fertility dr, get a list of needed tests and then take it to your ob/gyn. That saves at least a little $$.

Good luck.
