Looking for Doctor's....

We moved here just over 2 months ago and I am looking for the best pediatrician in town. I absolutly LOVED my children's pediatrician and I wish I could have brought them with us, but I am looking for who you think is the best/worst doctor's so I know who to possibly talk to and who to stray away from.
Also I am looking for an ObGyn... I am still going to make the treck back and forth to see my previous Ob, because she is amazing and I only have to go once a year, but when the time comes to possibly have another baby I would love to have some insight on who is good and who isn't.
Just a heads up on what kind of doctor's I am looking for... small practice, 100% personable, willing to spend time with you and your children so I can ask the questions I need/want to without the pressure of feeling like I have to leave right away, comfortable to talk to, friendly. These are just some of the things I look for in a great doctor.
Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer.

C.,

I am not sure what area you are located in. However, I STRONGLY recommend any of the pediatricians at Baptist Primary Health behind the Regency Square Mall. My daughter sees Dr. Altomare there and I absolutely love him. I have friends whose children see some of the other pediatricians with the same practice.

I know that you are requesting a small practice and this is NOT a small practice. However, they meet all of your other criteria. I have never once felt rushed or uncomfortable asking any questions. Dr. Altomare is absolutely wonderful with my daughter and speaks TO her, not about her, and always makes sure to ask if she has any questions. He always tells her exactly what he is going to do before he does it and treat her with the utmost respect.

My daughter is 5 now and started seeing Dr. Altomare when she was 3 because we had just relocated here. As long as I am withing driving distance to him she will continue to see Dr. Altomare for as long as she can.

Good luck on your search.

M.

Hi C.,

Not sure where you live but I have two incredible recommendations for you! My pediatrician is Dr. Hilleary C. Rockwell, III, on Park & Stockton Streets in Riverside. He is in practice alone, always has the same nurses, has an IMMACULATELY clean office and always takes all the time you need to talk about everything. He takes a little getting used to (he's kind of nerdy, but in a good way) and he's very conscientious and responsive. I love the office and travel to it, no matter how far away I live.

I also use North Florida OB/Gyn at St. Vincent's Hospital, 1800 Barrs St. Suite 200 in the Dillon Bldg. My doc is Tracy Wells and even though I rotated through the entire range of OBs while pregnant, all were wonderful, really caring and nurturing and I had a great experience and great delivery at that hospital, even though my little girl ended up in the NICU for 48 hours after birth!

I can highly recommend both so please e-mail me or use my name as a referral if you want to!

I have a recommendation for a pediatrician, Dr. Carolina Ceron-Canas, MD of Progressive Pediatrics, General Pediatrics & Wholistic Medicine. You can google her and read some of the comments that are just exactly what you are looking for - listening and making you feel like you and your children are the most important people in the world. Dr. Ceron-Canas will be speaking next week (11/14) at a Health Education Meeting for parents. Please contact me and I will give you particulars.

Here is the notice I have been sending out:

I have been teaching nutrition for years and the only product that I have ever recommended is Juice Plus - it is 100% whole food nutrition - fruits and vegetables in a capsule, a chewable, a gummie bear, and in a powdered protein powder for shakes and smoothies. Please check out my web-site www.juiceplus.com/+ML81601 where you can learn all about the product, listen to medical professionals, and review our extensive research.

I have a Health Education Meeting next week and my speaker is an MD specializing in General Pediatrics and Wholistic Medicine. I would be glad for you to attend. Please contact me.

I love my son's pedi - Dr. Anne Egan at Carithers Pediatric Group. We go to the one on Park St. in Riverside, but they have another location. I've been going to Dr. Sekine & Rasner OBGYNs for years. There is now another doc on board - Mitzi Brock - love her. I go to the office at Baptist hospital downtown, but they have another office in Mandarin.
