Looking for Diapers

It's been 5 years since my son was born and I had to deal with buying baby diapers. I am expecting another baby in December and am going to start stocking up now. My problem is that diapers today seem a bit ridiculous. I can easily see why more parents are turning to cloth diapers. It's not an option for me though. I used Parent's Choice before and I HATED them. I also used the Especially for Baby brand at BabiesRUs and they worked for awhile. I switched to White Clouds and stuck with those until it was time for toilet training. But now I see that White Clouds have discontinued and when I checked out Esp. for Baby I see the prices have gone WAY up. I check out the main brands such as Luvs, Pampers and Huggies and I'll be darned if those are still the same price but now they're 8-12 diapers less!

So what's a Mama to do?
Which diapers do ya'll use and which have you had problems with?

Thanks is advance for any advice!

What can I do next?

One thing my hisband I totally agree on is no cheap diapers. They just don't do the job that the major brands do. I have two boys and I used Huggies for newborns. I hate the diapers that have the umbilical cord cut out for boys because peepee goes all over the place with those. After they got a little larger and started being more active, I think Pampers Cruisers are the best! I do buy Huggies regular sometimes because I have coupons for those, but Pampers Cruisers are my favorite. The waistband is so stretchy and they never leak. Also, sign up for coupons from the diaper makers. I still get coupons every month. I signed up at my OB's office when I was pregnant and it saves me from$1.50-$4 off each package. Congratulations!

I love the Target brand diapers too! They have a little bit of a stretchy thing so my daughter is comfy. They are similar to Huggies and are about 14 bucks a box and they come with more diapers than Pampers or Huggies.

For newborns I liked using the Pampers swaddlers because they are so soft.

Hope it helps!

The best thing I ever did (and still do), is sign up at huggies.com and pampers.com and they send you tons of coupons. I wait until, like last week at kroger, they go on sale. They were marked for 8.99, and for one I had a $4 off coupon, and the other a $2 off coupon. I use only the huggies wipes. You can easily find the .50 cent off coupons that double, so you're wipes are only $1.49 at Kroger after the coupon. I find extra coupons at Craigslist.com and Ebay.

I use Huggies. I tried the Pampers and to me they dont hold as much. When i was pregnant I registered ta Huggies.com and they send me coupons all the time. I think it is what ever you prefer, every mom is different. I hope this helps. Good luck and have a great day.

I used Pampers all the way with my first and loved them!!

For my second I am using the Earth's Best Chlorine Free brand for disposables and really like them. I like their wipes too! They are pricey though.

I think I tried them all. Hated Pampers - I could always smell them when they were wet even though they seemed to absorb well. We used White Cloud when my son was a newborn I always thought they worked well, and yes they are being discontinued. But they make Member's Mark (Sam's Club) and White Cloud states they're closest to the original White Clouds. As my son got older we ended up moving on to and staying with Huggies after trying Luvs, Target & Wal-Mart. We'd end up with leaks in the weirdest places all three brands - in the rear. The Especially for Baby brand diapers weren't bad either, just inconvenient for us to get to a Toys R Us or Babies R Us on a regular basis. I think it really comes down to trial and error, body shape and that it changes as their age changes, I'd really try the smallest pack of each and see how it goes from there.

With our son, we used only Huggies but when the twins came along we couldn't afford them. I tried all the cheap brands and then tried the Members Mark diapers at Sams and was VERY happy with them. I was a little hesitant because there were so many in a box but I never had a problem and never switched to anything else. Even with coupons, the Huggies were more expensive.

I know you said that cloth diapers are not an option, but if it's because of washing, you can use diaper service instead of disposables. You just take the diaper off the baby and put it in the bag provided by the service instead of putting it in the trash. Just the same, but better for the earth, and much more comfortable for your baby.

I used the Pampers Swaddlers when my son was an infant and when he started moving we switched to Pampers Cruiser's. I've tried Luvs, Huggies, and Pampers Baby Dry. None of them worked for me, always had leaks or the tabs would break. I know they are more expensive, but if it will keep him dry and save me from having to clean up a nasty mess, I'll shell out the extra $$$. And in a pinch, I had to purchase some diapers from Dollar General. I think they were like $4 and they work awesome! Go figure. It's going to be trial and error for your little one.

The Target brand has worked great for me. The name of it is UP&UP. You can get a big box of diapers for only $14!!! They feel just like huggies but without the high price tag! Hope this helps!!! Oh...And Target's wipes are great too!!!
