A highly-recommended child care center is KidScape on the West side (near the airport). It is a place where many of my husband's co-workers (Air Traffic Controllers) bring their children. We have had our little girl (now 22 months old) on the waiting list there since last July. You will probably have better luck considering your child's age and that you're seeking full-time care (we were looking for p/t). My advice is to start contacting centers today - there is such an incredible wait list. Good luck!

i have heard good things about Robins Run Village. It's a nursing home but apparently they have an excellent daycare as well on site. one of my coworkers (who's an OB and her husband is a pediatrician) says it's great.

Check out this website:

www.childcarefinder.in.gov

It will give you the name and phone numbers of licensed in home day care providers, ministries, and day care centers within your zip code or county. Be sure to ask for referrals if someone you call is full. I had a hard time finding care for my daughter (4 months old). Many providers will only take one or two infants. Once you meet with a potential provider, always be sure to check their references. Good luck and let me know if you need any help!! I know how hard this search is - no one can take care of your baby like you!

I live on the NW side too. Two places I can tell you to stay away from are Day Nursery at 56th and Guion (my two girls were there and the administration/management is horrible - staff was very unhappy too when we finally left). Also, Small Blessings at 96th and Zionsville. My friend who worked there was fired after missing a week for an out of state funeral and not coming in to work one day because of the flu - and two of her children got sick because of her illness. Not good management on their part either, if you ask me (asking sick employees show up to work).

Good luck with your search!!

I'm not sure how old your oldest child is, but my youngest is 5 and she's at Montessori Academy of Indianapolis. They take children ages 1-9, and their tuition is extremely competitive w/ daycares in the area.
