Looking for Church near Lakeville

I LOVE Hosanna! I'm catholic, but Hosanna is great...they have live music, etc. highly recommended!

Me and my kids have gone to Celebration Church, which is just south of CR 46/Buckhill. It's big, vibrant, and loud. My kids didn't like it so much because it was too big for them, we moved from north east Minnesota, church attendance around 150 on a big day. The Wednesday night service is quite interesting, there are two pastors that are up front and the converse, it's like watching a radio show, they talk about real things, with a basis/comparison from the bible. Celebration is more on the techie side, imo. It's Assemblies/Evangelical.

The church we now go to is in Apple Valley at Pilot Knob/CR 42, in a long, low building, River Valley. It is nondenominational/Evangelical/affiliated through AOG but not AOG. The worship time is vibrant, but not as crazy as some I have seen. The preaching lasts around 1/2 hour and is very pointed to deal with today as it is with reference to the bible and people from that time. It touches on real issues, last month it was about sex, very pointed but not 'graphic' without preaching and definately discussing how it is a perk, not an obligation. They had the youth pastor take the teens into another room. My son said he didn't want to go, he changed his mind when they came out and started talking about it. This month, it's using hunting to illustrate how you have to aim at what you want in life and not deviate off the path or you won't end up where you want to go.

There is a youth program on Wednesday nights and Sunday nights to plug the middle school/high school agers in. There's also children's church on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings if your 12 year old isn't in middle school, yet. My son is introverted until very comfortable and he's come to look forward to and asking to go. If you do go, you could ask for Tim and he'd welcome the boys.

Jeannine, Hosanna Lutheran Church in Lakeville. www.hosannalc.org It is a larger church but does not have the instutional feel to it at all. My brother and his family go there and just love it. Another wonderful church is South Surban in Apple Valley. www.ssefc.org

My son and I attend Community of Hope Lutheran Church in Rosemount and love going there. www.cohlc.org

When I was looking for a new church, I attended the ones I thought would fit me, one each Sunday until I found the one I love.

I'm not sure what religion you are but I have been going to St. John's Lutheran church in Lakeville. Unfortunately right now we are having church at the Junior High School until the new church is built but I think it's a awesome church.
