I am moving to the White Rock area with my three year old daughter and looking for quality childcare in the White Rock/Lakewood area. I appreciate any knowledge of reputable pre-schools, churches, or daycares.

What can I do next?

Welcome to the White Rock Lake area. There are many childcare options in this area. It really depends on what your needs are. Do you need full time or part time child care? Full days or half days? If you work outside the home, where is your office? I live near the Arboretum and I teach early childhood music and movement classes at several area childcare centers, including several mother's day out facilities.

White Rock United Methodist Church Discovery Center is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, they only operate 9am to 2pm Mon-Thurs during school year and are closed for summer break.

Wilshire Baptist Church on Abrams at Mockingbird has a good PDO program, but they usually have a waiting list.

I have always used Dallas Day School because my oldest daughter was there as an infant when I used to work near downtown. They are located off Haskell Avenue across from Cityplace. Their hours are 7am to 6pm Mon-Fri.

There is another place called the Children's Center that is only half days till noon or so. I cannot recommend it, however, because I've never used them and don't do any classes there.

Good luck.

Hello Ladies,

My name is E. and I am a mature Personal Trainer working on promoting some work out classes and various types of weight management solutions.
No matter how busy you are, how little time you have or how impossible you life may seem, I have a solution to meet your needs. Even if you have unbearable aches and pains; in most case the solution is just a few sessions away. I am looking for some MOPS groups or maybe churches that have the Mother's Day Out programs or any place that you guys would feel that you guys feel would be a good place to serve parties interested
in getting a grip on fitness, health or life. There are even business opportunities available for those needing to start saving for the Kiddo's

Hi L.,
I too just moved to the White Rock area and am looking for day care. If I find anything I will email you the information. I received the Lake Highlands monthly mag which had some advertisements for day care and babysitting; however, in the move I misplaced it. Hopefully the January issue will have some information too.

I also have heard that The Children's Center (which is next door they rent property space from St. Bernard's) is good. Several friends who kids attend there. And you might check out The Learning Tree.

Welcome to the area :) I live over on Easton anmd Northwest Highway.
There is a big Lutheran church on Northwest Highway just West of Jupter--- before Lowes, I think it is Bethel. I have 2 friends who have used their daycare/preschool and LOVE them. Also, right next to Hester elementary on Waterview is Lakehiglands Baptist Church. Another friend uses them and raves about them.
Hope this helps. Feel free to e-mail w/ any more questions!
