Looking for Cheap Dance Classes in Youngstown, OH Area
Hi! Just moved to the Youngstown, OH area and am looking for cheap dance classes for my 4 yr. old daughter. She's always been very interrested in dance, and lately will not stop asking to be in "dance school". I've always told her to wait till she's older, but I feel she's ready now and the desire is definately there. But, we don't have much extra money to work with. Anyone know of free/cheap dance classes anywhere near me??? Thanks so much!

M.... Hi!! My daughter is 2 1/2 and she dances at STudio L in champion ( about 20 minutes from y town) ACtually I teach there too. We've called and check prices at the other"Big" schools in the area and we are defiately lower. I think an hour long class is approximately $30 or $32 a month. in the class she would get a sample of tap, jazz anda little Ballet or acro. She is also the prefect age to try out a new class we are adding this year "pretty Princess" She will get all of the above lessons an hour a week all with a disney princess theme. I think each week there will be a new princess whose songs and movies the girls explore. I wish I would have joined this sooner, we had some free classes over the summer. Anyway the Studio phone number is ###-###-####. Registration is August 16th and 17th. Feel free to contact me at ____@____.com, my name is also M.

Hi M., when my granddaughter was 4 and wanted to go to dance school and we could not afford it. All we did was turn on some fancy dance music, grab the cam corder and tape her for awhile. She was thrilled to have her papa and dad watch her dance when they came home from work. Hope this works for you as well as for us. Kathy

I would not recommend Sandy Bee's. They had a teacher from there teaching at the Y in Boardman and she was horrible with the girls. She talked down to them and was just really a bad teacher. I wrote a letter to the Y and asked for a refund. I don't generally complain so I hated to do it. I asked my son's preschool teacher about the treatment I had witnessed and she said she would take her out. My daughter is 3 and loves to dance too. The director called me and said that my letter expressed the same concerns he was hearing from other parents and was he was going to go to Sandy Bee's that day and talk to the manager about it. I'm sure they have different instructors and I don't even know who my daughter's instructor was. I don't know the name of the studio but Jaime Cordon is the owner and I have heard good things about her. Her son is in my son's preschool class and I know that she used to dance at Disney. She seems very nice. I'm not sure how young she teaches. I can find more information on her if you want though. We moved to Canfield about 4 years ago and are still getting our feet wet with the area. Watch out for those pot holes! :)

I am checking into this for you - I have a friend who teaches dance - but I think it is only for special needs children... just called her and left a message --- I will try to get you more info soon.
I know there is a place in North Jackson - just west of Austintown on Mahoning Avenue you could check out in the mean time.
