My son is graduating from high school this June. I am having a backyard party and I am looking for an affordable yet tasty caterer. I am willing to go pick up the prepared food if need be for a better price. Any suggestions would be welcomed. I live in the Eastpointe/St.Clair Shores area. THANK YOU !!!

We are thrilled with Kranks (or is it Cranks? I forget) Catering. We did a BBQ party at our church for a graduation. They brought a big grill & did the meat, and had wonderful sides, buckets with ice and water/pop, all the paper products etc. I just bought cake & grad napkins & decorations. Very easy and everyone raved about it!

I second Crank's! They are on Hoover near 11 mile in Warren and awesome.
If you're looking for something a little different try Emily's Meditterean Cuisine on Greater Mack just south of 9 Mile. I know they do party trays.

Hi M. -

I don't have any suggestions for professional companies, but I love to cook and would be willing to help you out. I personally think that events catered with homemade food is so much more personal and special. I cook for my family's events all the time. I've heard many times that I should open a restaurant. If going to a professional caterer doesn't work out for you, why don't you message me?

Good luck!

Hi M., try A Moveable Feast. They have great service and food. I found them when preparing for a ladies seminar at our church and got breakfast and lunch for about 10 dollars a lady. The church now uses them for quite a bit of our events. Hope this helps, L. S.

I have used Soprano's catering for my daughter's baptism and a baby shower I hosted. They have a deal called the "
drop-off" special and the food was excellent. I have recommended them to a number of my family and friends. Good luck.

hello M.,

What type of food are you trying to serve, how many people would you serve? That would determine the cost of the catering. If you are willing to pick up food. Why not recruit family members to each cook a dish large enough to serve the number of people you are trying t serve. This would probably be great for family members who can't afford to give a gift for your graduate. Some mighr be too ashamed to say that can't afford a gift. When my daughter graduated in o8 I did her entire party, by buying burner, racks that hold the alumuniun pans. I plan events for parties, church and weddings as a side job. I am currently laid off from a job( worked their 14 years for Head Start program) since August 2008 and could use the extra money. If you like you could email me back on my private
email address ____@____.com I live in Harper woods MI ( St. Clair/ Easpointe boarder. Nice talking to you.
