Looking for an OBGYN in Raleigh North Carolina

I am six weeks pregnant with my first child and I just can't seem to make an appointment with my regular obgyn. I feel like my questions are always dismissed and I don't trust their experience.

I am looking for some suggestions for an attentive and experienced Obstetrician in Raleigh, North Carolina. I currently go to Associates in Women's Health Care and haven't been happy there. I live close to downtown but would travel for someone wonderful.

Thanks in advance for your input!

What can I do next?

Mid-Carolina OBGYN over near Rex is wonderful, there number is ###-###-####. Congratulayions and good luck!!

I go to Wilkerson OB/GYN and had both my sons with them. I LOVED them. Dr. Roche delivered both my sons. I prefer her and Dr. Flannagan but all the doctors there are great.

Capital Area OBGYN in the office building attached to Rex Hospital is very good. They took great care of me when I was pregnant with my twins and when I was pregnant with my third child. I have been a patient there for about 20 years (since I was a junior in college).

Kamm, McKenzie, Harden, Smith, Bass, etc. are a great group in Raleigh (off Six Forks). Delivered both my kids -- awesome and wouldn't have gone anywhere else!

Hi M.,

I go to Mid-Carolina OB/GYN over at Rex -www.midcarolinaobgyn.com. Two doctors that I would recommend - Dr. Amy Groff (she and her nurse are wonderful!!!) and Dr. Jack Inge. It is a bigger practice, so they have a ton of resources. The waiting room can seem a little like a cattle drive, but once you go back to the exam rooms, both Dr. Groff and Dr. Inge and their nurses are like going to see a small town doc who has all the time in the world to talk with you.

Good luck in your search!

Capital Area OBGYN in Raleigh (off Lake Boone Trail). Their hospital affiliation is Rex Hospital. All of the doctors there are wonderful- I have seen both Dr. Richardson and Dr. Barrett, and I highly recommend both. They also have a Cary office on Cary Parkway. The thing I love is the fact that you can ask questions either by phone or send via their website. They always respond quickly with answers to my questions.

I had two different OBGYN's during my three pregnancies. They were both at the same practice until my last pregnancy and then they separated. Their names are Dr. Alan Holton and Dr. Jack Inge. They are both great! They were both very personable, were willing to answer all my questions, calm my anxieties and had great office personnel. I believe that Dr. Holton is on his own (in an office around the Rex campus) and Dr. Inge is one of the OB offices on the campus at Rex. I hope you find someone that you are comfortable with. Having a good doctor who is supportive is a must during this wonderful (and sometimes scary) part of your life. Best wishes!

I would highly recommend the midwives at UNC. I switched to them early during my current pregnancy after being unhappy with two OBs during my last pregnancy/labor/delivery. So far I have been beyond happy with the midwives!

Wilkerson OBGYN in Raleigh...attached to Rex Hospital is AWESOME! I go to Dr. Roche, but like all of the Dr's in the practice. I have never found it difficult to schedule appointments with them, and liked the fact that they were adjacent to the hospital. Would recommend them highly!
Good Luck!
