Looking for an OBGYN - Chicago,IL

I am only 5 weeks pregnant and have a lot of questions. My number one priority is to find a OBGYN/practice that I feel comfortable with preferrably at Northwestern. (Prentice) I think I would be more comfortable with a woman and someone who is willing to answer all of my questions. Any recommendations would be appreciated- thanks!

What can I do next?

I love my ob/gyn: Dawn McGee at Association for Women's Healthcare - i go to the 30 N. Michigan Ave office but i think they have an office in northbrook too. I delivered at prentice - albeit the OLD ONE! not the new fancy one.... best wishes.

I go to Norhtwestern Women's Group. They are out of Northwestern and deliver at Prentice but the office is at River park North...much nicer and easier to get to. There is only 5 docs, 2 midwives, and 2 PA's....so it is intimate and you know everyone before delivery...it's nice not to have 20+md's to get to know. I delivered with them last october and stayed with them through this pregnancy due December. I have never had a problem and feel they would spend hours with me if I needed it. My md and I have a great relationship and because of my difficulties getting pregnant she really cared...she actually cried at my delivery!

I delivered my first two at Prentice and since I moved to the Burbs am switching practices to deliver at Northwest Community. I loved my practice and there are like 12 docs. You can usually get a woman and they are all great (the men too). https://www.nmff.org/ClinicalMedical/department.asp?id=10 I would recommend Drs. Tsai, Kiley and Goldsmith the most. Congrats and best wishes!

Nye Partners in Womens Health - Deliver at Prentice or Rush. Offices on Michigan Ave near Northwestern or in River Forest.

I've had three pregnancies and kids with them and love them.

If you are looking for a practice that is ok with asking questions you might want to try the midwives group at Northwestern. They are very comfortable with education their patients and work well with lots of questions.

Good choice; Prentice is a great hospital! My doctor was Stanley Friedell at Northwestern Women's Health Associates - I know you'd prefer a woman, but he was fantastic. There are several female doctors in his practice, though - here's the link to the listing:

Congratulations and best of luck to you!

I delivered at Evanston, so I don't know of anyone at Northwestern. But I just wanted to say Congratulations and enjoy it all...it goes by too fast!! :-)
