Looking for Advice on Choosing a Stroller

Hi moms! My husband and I are taking our 15 month old to Arizona to go to some preseason baseball games. We have the Chicco Cortina stroller which is a pain to travel with. It's already gone on 6 flights. We are looking for something smaller, more compact, and less expensive. Our little guy needs something to ride in at the airport, throughout the ball parks, and short rides hear and there. Because we'll be outside in Arizona, I'd like the stroller to have some sort of shade covering. Of course, I want something comfortable for him, but I don't need the $300 umbrella stroller either. Does anyone have suggestions or advice on a lightweight stroller? Do you have any experience with strollers that I should stay away from? Thank you so much for your time!

What can I do next?

We have the Mia Moda stroller and love it, it's been on 5 flights and we take it with us everywhere we go around town. My son's only 9mths but 21.5lbs, it has the shoulder straps and it reclines, there's a shade covering but you can always buy a bigger shade covering, the one on the stroller isn't huge. But for $50 it's a great stroller to have for ball games and airports! Good luck with your stroller purchase and have a blast in Arizona! Oh I bought it online at strollers.com instead of Target or Babies R Us because it was a little cheaper.

I have the Combi- which I don't recommend it was $100. it handles badly and the storage has a bar under that makes it almost useless..

Luckily I have another more expensive stroller which we use most of the time, which we got from craigslist. Peg preggo but much cheaper.

good luck.

I couldnt help but answer because I've gone through a few myself. I had a chicco umbrella stroller. We ran it into the ground. I think it was $50 and for the way we used it I think it was a good deal. It doesn't turn that easily (like with one hand). After that one we bought a McClaren. I think it was the mid-range model.($100). It's lighter and steers better. We also don't kick the wheels when walking and my tall husband can push it better. Now, the next model up reclines (I think it was $150. If I had to do it again I would buy the reclining version. The few times my son has fallen asleep in it his head droops forward. Good luck. I love the McClaren. I also had a bugaboo and sold it on eBay. This is the only stroller I need and it makes life sooo much easier!

I have a great umbrella stroller that I got from Target - Cosco brand. It was $29.99 and it is so wonderful. It has gone on many trips with us and even went to Balise with my friend and her daughter. I suggest that you go on Craigslist and try to find a used umbrella stroller. Especially since you are going to travel with it, it is worth while to get a good deal in case the airline gets too rough with it. Have fun on your trip!

I have the most FABULOUS umbrella stroller EVER! I just bought the Maclaren Triumph and it is the best stroller I have ever used! It has decent storage on the bottom and turns on a dime! It is light weight and I can push with one hand! The handles are tall so my 6"5 hubby can push it with out straining his back! I got it new on Craig's List for $120! I think in the store it is $130-$160! It truly was the best investment ever and I no longer use my other stroller anymore unless i use my double Maclaren for long trips with both kids! Seriously check this one out! Good luck! Oh one more thing, this one reclines! It is wort the extra $50 bucks!
