Looking for a Work-out Buddy - I'm Losing My Motivation!
I just recently went back to the gym to lose the 20lbs of baby weight still hanging on me...4 years later! I was doing great for the first month and now I'm starting to lose my motivation. I was wondering if there was anyone who works out at the Shapes gym on 38th Ave in St. Petersburg who would be interested in buddying up. I usually go on Tuesdays & Thursdays though I might go more here soon - I'm easing into it. Drop me a line if you're interested!

Hi M., I have been thinking the same thing about starting to work out AGAIN. I just got my membership back in Jan. but have only been their twice. I am a member of the same Shapes. My original intentions was to go on Tue., Wed., and Sat. but you see where that got me, nowhere. I have plenty of weight to lose. I need motivation too!! I have a 21 month old boy and 13 year old girl. Maybe we can chat more about this sometime. E-mail me at ____@____.com

I'm not in St. Pete but I have been a diligent exerciser for most of my life. You're doing the right thing looking for a buddy- that can keep you going when you are too tired or exhausted. Another thing you can try is to write out your goals and tape the list somewhere you will see it every day. That will remind you of why you started working out in the first place and give you a boost when you would rather be relaxing on the couch! Another thing you can try is to sign up for is a marathon, like the American Cancer Society or Team in Training. Yeah, you have to fundraise, but in return you get free workout training from experts and you meet other people like you- trying to get motivated for working out for a good cause. And in the end, you can say you finished a marathon! Good luck!

I'm desperate for a buddy, too. I cannot EVER get myself going, no matter how rude hubby is about my weight. My email is ____@____.com
I have an in-home daycare, so I couldnt go before 6 pm on weeknights and Sat. ... well, I may be able to get someone else to watch the nieces for me on Sat., or go work out before 10 am... anyway, email me and we can "work out" a schedule.
