Looking for a Toddler "Laptop" That Will Entertain My Son
My son is turning 2 in a few weeks and his granmother has asked what he wants for his birthday. Which of course means, what do we want him to have since he really doesn't have preferences at this point. He does love our computer - mostly because of the screen saver slide show we have. But he will play around with the mouse and gets all excited when the pages of the internet change. Does anyone have any suggestions on a toddler "laptop"/computer that would really entertain him. I have seen some, but they only have a small screen and don't seem that interactive. Oh, and a big problem with any of the computer programs you can use for toddlers on your home computer is the fact that we have a MAC ratehr than a PC. I would appreciate any suggestions you can provide! Thanks!

Last Christmas my son was 2 1/2 and he got the Fisher Price Fun 2 Learn. It is super durable, inexpensive and portable big time. It is super cute has a mouse attached to the keyboard and has three or four game levels I think. It has the whole ABC thing with cute displays for each letter. He still loves it a year later.

My daughter has a "laptop" it is Barbie, but is has a bunch of games and things to play.(However she is just now learning what to do with them) The best thing is..it is like a laptop, fold closed and everything and you don't need to attach it to anything, to use it. I am sure there are boy ones. We got hers about 3 years ago (when she was 2)and I have seen much better ones since. Good Luck

Well, I don't know about separate "laptop" toys, but my daughter got the FisherPrice Laugh, Learn, and Smile Computer Learning System and she enjoys it. It is a keyboard that fits over your actual computer keyboard and has a program you install on your computer with three different levels of play. It does not utilize the mouse, but it is very interactive and teaches cause and effect, numbers, letters, etc. Hope this helps!

Hello,
I am not sure if you have looked into it, but a V-Smile has an interactive play thing you hook up to your TV. They have a little "lap-top" thing they can learn and interact with. I have one but my daughter is not quite old enought to be interested yet. It was around 30-40 dollars. May want to look into that. All the screens on laptops I have seen are small, so if you are looking for bigger you may want to do that route. I got mine at Toys R us but have seen them on ebay too.

My 2 year old got a V-Tech laptop. It does have a small screen, but it was a cute little Thomas one that he loves. It is helping him learn his letters, and when he gets a little older there are other games he can play too! It doesn't entertain him forever, but honestly what really does at 2 years! lol!

Both our boys love the leap pad things. We had the 3-36 month one and our older one called it his computer. It's not really a computer, but very interactive. If you can find them, Sam's Club has the best price by far. About 10 dollars more, but you get 3 extra books.
