Looking for a Tax Accountant
I am looking for a independent CPA or tax accountant to help me prepare my taxes. I am also looking for someone who is honest and affordable. I usually have a schedule c to fill out also. If they are not independent thats ok, just need someone who has been doing taxes for awhile. I am in the Shawnee Mission area but will go to MO.

I felt I had to answer since we found Mike via mamapedia (actually mamasource, which was the old name). He is located in the Plaza and somewhere else (we go to the plaza). He's great and I think really reasonable in price and SUPER fast (I should stop giving his name out so he doesn't get too busy ;-)!! Good luck! PS...we decided we needed someone because of our very complicated taxes (we moved, became landlords, started a business, etc all in one year) and we'll never not use him.

I have used Larry Lancey at Blanck & Lancey my entire working career (I'm 54). I have very complicated taxes, including property in both KS & MO, investments, etc. Larry is great and very friendly. He is located in Westport in a modest location, so no big show when you walk in. This is a family business, and I have really enjoyed going there. They do everything the modern way and have electronic filing. I have always thought that they were reasonable in price. Larry is a CPA.

I started using Joe Cumley last year after my previous accountant screwed a few things up. Joe has several certifications, one of which only a handful across the country even have. Something from the IRS, but I don't remember which one. He's an E.A, ATP and RFC. All I know is he caught a few things (i have two schedule C's I think) that saved me. He's one of the metro's largest practices, but a small business himself. He's out in Olathe, on Parker. Very small office, and very reasonable. His number is ###-###-####. Good luck!
