I am looking for a sports program for my oldest son who is now 4. I am a stay at home mom and have two younger children also. We can't afford preschool, so I work with him at home but I would really like to get him into a sports program so he can have his own thing. We have a lot of play dates, but I am looking for something for him to really be a part of. My younger two are still babies and get a lot of attention. I think it will be good for him to get out and participate in sports. He likes basketball, or maybe t-ball, but I definatly need something for beginners. I know their are usually things in the summer, but the summer is really bad for us. My husband does Air Conditioning so we don't have time for extra things in the summer. We have to vacation and do our extra's in the fall and spring. We live in North Phoenix, does anyone have any suggestions??

What can I do next?

You can also enroll him in the Headstart program.... It is free and look for a school in your area. There is an office in Mesa and I am not to sure of the number but call information and get the number.... they are located on Country Club Dr.... 2150 suite 7.... It is a preschool to get them ready for kindergarden...

Hi D.,

I don't know if your still looking for a program but we had my son enrolled with The Little Gym. They have several locations and one of their programs is Sports related. I don't think they do t-ball or baseball because its an indoor thing but it might be something to look into.

Otherwise, many YMCA's or your city has activities. I live in Anthem and they have a slew of activites including a t-ball team for little ones. Your city should have something similiar I would think. But I'm not sure.

Good luck!

The City of Phoenix has Tiny Tots sports available thru the Parks and recreation division. It is $25 dollars to enroll them, and that is all you have to pay. They offer soccer and t-ball. My oldest will soon be five and the did t-ball last winter. At the end of the season they have a pizza party and they get awards. He was the only child for 31/2 years, and then his little brother was born, so it was really a good expirence for him.
