Looking for a Small Dog to Adopt
We have been looking for a chihuahua or dutchhound or any other small dog. We are cheking several shelters nearby but only medium/large dogs are for adoption.
I'm wondering if any mama cannot longer care for her doggy and wants a good home, full of love and care for pets
Please contact me if you know anything that could help us out.
Thanks.

I was just looking on the Operation Kindness website, and there are several little dogs from which to choose. Most are a couple years old which means they might already be house trained!
There is a little female terrier named Rocksy who looks adorable.
Good luck!

Hi, I'm not sure how old your kids are, but be careful with a small dog if you have small children. Chihuahuas are super cute (I have two), but can be very snappy when they aren't treated like the little Diva's they are :) They also often get attached to one person in particular and don't like other people. I can honestly tell you that one of my little Chi's has caused trouble in my marriage because he hates my husband getting close to me :) I hear it is common with them. Just something to watch out for. A dachshund may be a better choice. But anyway, I got one of mine from www.fmhs.org They're a great group and often have great dogs of all sizes.

try richardsonhumanesociety.org - they are a good group too with foster homes vs. shelter dogs.

Most definitely agree to contact Operation Kindness. I just rescued and brought there 2 small dogs who need good home and they are very nice organization to support.
Good luck

Hey E.,
We have two chihuahuas that are fairly old, 12years and 10years old. We had another family care for them for years but they couldn't do it anymore and we now have them back. We also have a newborn and have been looking for someone to take them in again. One is black and tan and the other is white and tan. We thought about sending them to a shelter but they said no one would probably be able to adopt both of them. They are sisters. Anyways, if you are interested please let me know. Thanks, J.
