Looking for a Rumage Sale for Children's Things

Hi there,
I was just wondering if anyone knew of any neat repeat sales or rumage sales coming up with children's things only. I know usually people donate their unwanted children's items to a church or local organization and they have a big sale. Do you know of any coming up? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Wow, thanks for all the great information. I am going to look for these in the fall.

I just saw this one this morning:

Big Swap Bonanza; May 2, 7 am-3 pm; Soldier Field, South Parking Lot, 1410 S. Museum Campus Dr. ###-###-####). Vendor selling space, $50/advance registration, $65/day of; entry, $3.

Sounds neat.

This Saturday, May 2nd is Will County Mothers of Multiples in Bolingbrook. I saw it advertised on Craigslist a while back.

I don't know about a rummage sale but there is a website called Freecycle where people give and get things for free to keep stuff out of the landfills.

The first church of the Nazarene, in Lemont, always had an awesome one in Spring and Fall. Very organized. I don't see it on their web-site so they may have hosted theirs already. However, they may be able to give you some insight as to where another one is, in the the area, this Spring. They take clothes seasonally - Spring Summer/in Spring; Fall Winter/in Fall.

The City of Oswego has a special weekend where the whole town has garage or rummage type sales. Call the city, but it is always in May. Mothers and more along with two other moms groups rent out the DuPage Fairgrounds around every Sept 9 and March 9. That huge sale starts in the morning on a Sat, but ends around 1 pm. Some buildings are open later with a half price sale starting at 11:30PM. It is infant, children, and maternity items. BAtavia also has a sale around the same time at one of their public schools. The catholic church in Sandwhich area usually has a clothing sale.

Their is a hidden gem in Aurora. On Lake St also called route 31, there is a thirft store in an anchore size building. On Thursdays it is buy 10 get 10 free. Prices are around 1 to 4 dollars for clothing, but most are around 2 dollars if that. It is next to Carson Piere Scot.

Have fun shopping!

We're having one this weekend, Sat. May 2 at Evergreen Elem. in Carol Stream. It's on Evergreen Dr. off of Birchbark Dr. which is off of County Farm Road. It's north of North Ave. (Rt. 64) but south of Army Trail Rd. Don't know the exact hours, but would think it's 8:30-1:30ish.

Illinois organization of mother of twins clubs has all of the multiples sales listed on their website. There's one this weekend in Bolingbrook on Saturday. 8:00am - noon Westbrook Christian Church 1175 Lily Cache Lane.
Several of the groups, usually have 2 sales per year. Great items, gently used at low cost.

Good luck!

A lot of groups already had their resales. I belong to Step by Step PTA (stepbysteppta.com) and we had ours on March 14th (along with 3 other groups at the DuPage County Fairgrounds). Our Fall resale will be September 12th. We take clothes, toys and equipment. The seller gets 75% and SBS gets 25%. You are typically able to get more for your items at the resale than you would if you sold at a garage sale.
