My husband and I have a much needed date tomorrow night. We are both in the mood for a nice juicy steak. Can anybody recommend a restaurant with great steaks? We live in Frisco (off of the Tollway), but are willing to drive up to 20 minutes.

What can I do next?

III Forks is my all time fav! But...my husband and I went on a date to Kenny's Wood Fired Grill in Addison recently. It was also excellent!

NONE of my recommendations and favorites are inexpensive. You get what you pay for and it is worth it at least once to visit these places. If not, go to Hirsch's in Plano and buy a steak to grill yourself. It will be the same quality as these recommendations.

Our favorites for steak are Del Frisco's (Spring Valley?Tollway). A clubbish atmosphere with EXCELLENT service. It is one of those places you need to go to at least once in your life.

Also, III Forks (Trinity Mills/Tollway), Steaks are fabulas like Del Frisco's, EXCELLENT service but more of a country western feel.

These are our 2 top favorites. Other favorites are Bob's at the Shops of Legacy and Ruth Chris (Tollway/Trinity Mills).

You can't go wrong with any of these choices. Plan to spend some $$$ but it will be worth it.

Lawry's Prime Rib (Spring Valley/Tollway) is GREAT.

Fogo de Chau was also mentioned.... again EXCELLENT choice. I love the salad bar and another nice thing about Fogo (or Texas Brazil) is that you can sample a lot of types of meats....so the variety of what is available is very nice.

A little less expensive, not by much, is Sullivan's (Tollway/Trinity Mills). I like the lamb chops there.

I think all of these restaurants are worth a visit at some point. We have been to all the restaurants mentioned and my favorite overall is still Del Frisco's.

Enjoy!!

on a budget try Texas Road House www.texasroadhouse.com great Filet dallas filet 8oz under $18 for salad and side or 2 sides as well as steak
just a thought-- those other places are great but VERY pricey esp. with sides and drinks....

Well I just realized you are both probably already on your date right now, but for the future...we love, love, LOVE Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on the Tollway. Their filet is amazing and so tender!!! They have a great website that will show the menu too (everything comes a la carte). It is very pricey though...we only go about 2 or 3 times a year. Hope you had a great date tonight!

Hello J.,

I don't know what's your budget. However, Fogo de Chao is a great place for steak. It's on Belt Line just east of Midway. I'm not sure if they take reservations. If not, get there early. You get all the different types of meat you want and a great salad bar. I also like SaltGrass (great pin~a coladas).

It really depends upon how much you want to spend, but there is a Bob's Steak and Chop House in Plano at the Shops at Legacy. They have GREAT steaks. My husband and I love steak and always go to a steak place for our anniversary each year. We are willing to spend more than usual for an anniversary dinner. The best steaks we have ever had were at Del Frisco's. Another fun and delicious option is Texas de Brazil in Addison. They have a huge salad/veggie/soup bar that you go to first, then servers bring you a plethora of meats that you can either choose to eat or pass up. They have a house specialty that is out of this world. It's a fun place for a date and the meats are REALLY good. Have fun. I just wanted to add that I've also been to Fogo De Chao in Addison. It is similar to Texas De Brazil, but Texas De Brazil is much better in my opinion.
