Looking for a Preschool in the Henderson/GV Area

My son will be 3 in February and I am going to start looking to put him in preschool probably when he is about 4. He is not potty trained yet, so I know most places want him to be. We're working on that. Does anyone know of a good preschool a couple days a week for a few hours. I have heard of some that do like MWF or T,TH for like 2 1/2 hours. I don't want anything like a daycare at all. I am only putting him in this for learning purposes. I am a full time stay at home mom, so the reason for this is not childcare, but educational. I am also looking for something that is reasonably priced. Any input would be helpful. I live not too far from the Galleria Mall, so I'm close to Green Valley and not too far from the older part of Henderson.

What can I do next?

Hi L., I was just reading your request and you sound exactly like me!!! I want to do the exact same thing with my son, Anthony. I wrote a request last week to see if anyone knew of a preschool setting in someone's house with 4 or 5 kids rather than a preschool. He is not potty trainied either. I am a special education teacher but took a few years off to be home with my children. I have Anthony which will be 3 on dec. 29th and Nicholas who will be 2 on Dec. 27th and a 3 week old daughter not to mention I have a 10 yr. old also. I want to put Anthony in an educational and social setting but want it to be structured and with a small group of children. So, if I have any ideas or hear of anything I will let you know. Please do the same for me. It sounds like we are looking for the same type of situation. You can email me anytime. Tina

I have my son in Vegas Valley Christian, it's on Mountain Vista just north of Russell, it's not too far from Galleria. A friend of mine has her son in Green Valley Christian. It's off Valle Verde & Sunset.

Vegas Valley Christian has pre-school and I believe it's from 8a.m. to maybe 1:00, you can contact them at ###-###-####. Hope this helps!

Christ the Servant lutheran school. It is at Pecos and Wigwam and they have morning and afternoon preschools for 3 and 4 year old as well as a kindergarden. The parents help out it is called a co-op so you get to be hands on, you usually help out once a month but can do more if you can find a mom that is willing to share her days... some work a lot of hours so they are more than wiling to share. I am not a real religious person, but the kids are so well mannered and they all get along. They have a lot of functions that aim to get the parents involved. You will come feeling like an outsider... but will leave feeling like you have known these people your whole life. Give them a call now and get on the waiting list ASAP it fills up fast. I don't have the # with me but send me a private email and I will track it down.

Hi L.,
I am looking for preschools as well. I know Eoin has 2 more years to go but I want to start looking early and know what my options are.

If you resolved this please update us moms!

Cheers!

My daughter attents Green Valley Luthern preschool on Valle Verde & Wigwam. It is a great school - very personal. They have three different price plans for if you are a member of the church, certified member (take 3 one hour classes) or a non-member. My daughter is 4 and she goes MWF 8:30 -11:30 for $76 (certified member) a week. They have 3 year olds and I believe they are TTH the same times. You can also attend all day at both age levels.
I also liked Merryhill on Windmill & Green Valley. It is a bit pricer - they even have potty training classes for an additional charge.
Be sure to check in early with any school. They start taking names sooner than you think for the next year - most have a limit.
Best of luck.
