Hello ladies,
I am looking for a wonderful, Great Educated leveled and pricing Preschool for my 4 year old youngest son who is a late bloomer, He will be turning 5 years old in December of this year.I live in the N.W. Phoenix area, I am looking for a wonderful teaching school who cares, educated and give my son the learning his needs to be prepared for Kindergarten in 2010. I know his ready and we have done all the home teaching for him, I had him tested and he meets and over knowledge his learning. His gets bored and we have done everything under the sun. I kmow he is ready to go to preschool. While his older siblings attended a traditional school and I work my mother watches him since she is retired.
My finances are tight being a single mother but, If I could find a wonderful preschool for him It would be great. I would not mind the drive- My cross roads are Peoria Ave and 51st Ave in glendale. I don't want to sound petty or mean I just would really like to find some preschool for him to atted. My older children are always sitting down with him and teaching him new and different things and he catches on. He always asking me if he can go to preschool this year, I tell him will see.
I don't care if it a christain, lutheran school or a private school any help out there would be greatly appreciated. It is just financial costs beinag a single parent is what is hard and I have no child support at all, my mom does help out when she is able.
I thank you ladies out there, have a great day.
M.

Check out the preschool at Imagine Bell Canyon School located at I17 and Bell Road. Its a playbased environment that uses Arizona Early Learning Academic Standards and the nations leading early childhood curriculum. The teachers are degreed and highly qualified.

My suggestion would be to look into the public schools in your area. Many of the schools have a preschool program, some with little to no cost. I'm not sure what you mean by late bloomer since you said he is ready for everything. Anyhow - most school districts have a Special Education preschool program that has a peer pal component. We live in the Madison School District and all of my children participated as peer pals. It helped prepare them for Kindergarten and it gave them a safe environment in which they were introduced to children with special needs (ranging from physical to mental disabilities) and could ask questions without hurting anyones feelings. My children loved it, they learned lots and even became mentors for other children in the class.

Yes I believe your in the washington elementary school district. My son was not talking normal sentences when he was three, he was also late doing some stuff in his infant years, when he was 3yrs old I had him tested i had go through a public school then they refer you to a place called search to serve, where they test your kids and see if they qualify it sounds like your son might, then they will call you back and let you know, if he does qualify they will have another meeting with you with all the information and it does not cost anything they also provide transportation if needed. my son goes for 2 1/2 hours a day for 4 days a week. This will be his 2nd year i believe.

Im not sure which side of 51st Ave and Peoria you are on (Im not possitive if you have to be in the district to attend), but Washington Elementary School District has a pre-school option as part of their M.O.S.T. program. My son attended and we were pretty happy with it. The cost was really reasonable and my son got to know some of the kids he goes to school with now. Im sure there are more intensive educational options for pre-school, but it was a well rounded program in my opinion.

I am starting my sixth year teaching Preschool in my home at 67th Ave and Happy Valley Road. I've just had a cancellation, so do have room for one in my classroom. I only take 8 students. Class is Mon, Wed and Friday mornings from 9:00 to 11:30. Tuition is $120.00 per month. I do have my business listed with quite a few reviews on mamasource. I understand what an important decision this is to make. Please do give me a call if you would like to come check out the classroom. Best wishes! R. Atwell ###-###-####

Hi M.,

I highly recommend an in home school program called Bright Beginnings - they are located at 67th Ave and Happy Valley - ###-###-#### or ###-###-####.

My daughter will be attending her third and last year in the program and then off to kindergarten. I can't say enough GREAT things about this program.

The teacher was teaching at the Child Development Center at ASU West. ASU had budget cuts and they eliminated the program but some of the teachers continued the program and moved it to one of the teacher's homes. They follow the High Scope method of teaching. They encourage independent thinking, rationalization, verbal skills, learn through play as well as learning reading, writing and numerical skills. My daughter is not yet five and most people believe she is six due to her language and communication skills. I credit this to the program and the teachers. The teacher/student ratio is very low so each child gets attention and the teachers know the traits, personalities, likes/dislikes of each children. My child adores her teachers and looks forward to school each day and at the end of her day is so proud to talk/share her accomplishments and activities.

The school has both full and part-time schedules. They are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. They provide breakfast, snack, lunch, snack. They also do rest time after lunch and cots are provided.

The school is licensed and registered with the state. I do know that financial assistance is available through the state and the teacher/owner, can provide you with all the details.

I hope this info helps. Again, I can't say enough wonderful things.

Good luck,

L.
