Looking for a Place of Worship

I am looking for a place to worship God. I am a very liberal person that wants to teach my children about our father AND how to be loving and accepting of all others. A church with mixed races would be excellent. Is there such a thing in the Smyrna area, or anywhere around Atlanta for that matter?

What can I do next?

Thank you, everyone, for your suggestions. I ended up at Cumberland United Methodist Church in Smyrna. This is a very loving congregation and my children really like it there.

Thanks again,
G.

Hi G.,

I am also an EXTREMELY LIBERAL person and I, too, feel the same way about organized religion! That being said, I still wanted to introduce my child to God b/c I was afraid that if I didn't then someone else would and it would probably be in a way with which I wouldn't agree.

Luckily, we were able to find a liberal church named, All Saints Epsicopal Church in Atlanta. Its on the corner of North Ave and West Peachtree. Not only are there people from all races and backgounds, but also gay couples with children. Everyone is excepted and able to be who they truely are. The website to the church is allsaintsatlanta.org.

Well, I hope this helped and have a great day!!

Hi, my name is B. Clements I am a married mother of 4. I attend a non-denominational church (Great Faith Ministries)which is located in Decatur, GA. I have been a member for about 8 months now and love it because is it not an organized religious church. The pastor's name is Bishop Wayne T. Jackson and he often says that if you are looking for a religious based church then Great Faith Ministries is not for you. It is not about religion it is about finding a church home where you can grow spirtually. I can honestly say that in the past 8 months I have really grown spirtually. This ministry has two locations, one in Detroit(headquarters) and the one here in Decatur, GA. Our services are on Saturdays at 11:00a.m. to give the pastor the opportunity to be here and the Detroit location each week. We have a website where you can view a live service before you decide to visit. The website is greatfaith.org and it comes on tomorrow live at 10:30a.m. Grace and Peace!

Take a look at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Downtown (Peachtree and 5th). Very liberal, very accepting of everyone, mixed races, ages, etc.

I am Catholic and when I lived in the Marietta area I attended Transfiguration Catholic Church. All kinds, colors, shapes and sizes attend there. It's my idea of a perfect church. I miss it!

When I was married, my husband would only attend Unity church. The last one I attended was Unity North. It is NOT Unitarian. It is a very liberal church with very little (if any) dogma. They have children's church as well.

Both have web sites. Check it out and good luck.
