Looking for a Park with Equipment for Toddlers
I am having my daughter's first b-day and I was wondering if there are any parks around that have a great playscape for small/young children?

Hi H.!
My daughter is almost 2, and around 9 months old, I found several that were perfect for toddlers! I'm not sure where you live, but there are several that are central and are lots of fun.
My favorite is Little Stacey Park (next to Little Stacey Pool) in Travis Heights neighborhood off Congress (near Riverside). It has great shade, lots to do all geared to under 5, and a small pool that's lifeguarded and is a wading pool for toddlers open during the summer.
I live in French Place in East Austin, and I also love Patterson Park which has great covered table areas for parties and the playground is so nice and perfect for 5 and under too.
There's also a small park that I recently discovered but, would be perfect for toddlers and a party and not crowded. It's got the fun fountain area where fountains squirt up at different levels and toddlers can run through them and a great playscape and a fun covered area with picnic tables. It's small but, perfect for a toddler's birthday party. If you take Manor off I-35 and go East for about 1/4 mile, take a right on Cherrywood, it is about a 1/4 mile on the right. My daughter loved playing there and we stayed about 2 hours. It might also be the perfect birthday party park for privacy - not too many people seem to know about it.
Here's a link of Austin parks - if you look through the maps, each one has photos of the individual parks too!
Hope this helps.
M.

Not sure if you are in the Cedar Park area, but there are so many good parks. One that comes to mind is the one on El Salido (in between 620 and Cypress Creek). Its next to an Elementary school. Its a huge park with all sizes of playscapes.

Garrison park on Manachaca, next to Crokett high school is also nice for the little guys. Lots of shade and a ramp to get up onto the playscape for those who can't climb quite yet.

Ramsey Park is also a good one with 2 playscapes and 2 sets of swings (one set is baby and other regular), it also has a sandbox also. Its on 42nd Street, near medical parkway.

There's a park in between cypress creek and 620, I believe it's called el salido pkwy, next to an elementary school. They have a great, big covered patio area for parties and the park is very friendly for both toddlers and older kids, with 2 seperate playscapes for both. Beautiful gazebo area, and my kids love to walk through the tree and grassy areas.

Depends where you live. In Round Rock, there is Settlers Park off east 79 just next to the Dell Diamond. There are multiple play areas, appropriate for toddlers & up. There are picnic shelters & facilities close to the playscapes and it has always been clean when we visited. On the west side of Round Rock, there are many parks in the Brushy Creek area. Go to bcmud.org for more info. Most have facilities, but not all.
