Welcome to Kansas! I highly recommend a guy by the name of Ted Connelly... he is at the Hair Room in Overland Park. Like 135 and Quivera. (I am guessing, never really good at those cross streets!) Their number is ###-###-####.
I just recently cut my hair SHORT... after having long hair my whole life. I honestly cannot fathom going back to long. He did an amazing job!
He is also a certified color specialist!

Go see Rachelle at Upper Echelon in downtown Olathe. She does the shows for the bridal expo's everyear and she rocks. She runs a full salon.

Funny thing--I'm from NY and my Mom cut my hair until I was 22! Anyway, we live in Lenexa and I've tried a couple of stylists around town, but I think I've found a keeper. Her name is Amanda Ingram and she works at Par Exsalonce at College and Quivira. We live in Lenexa as well and it takes me about 10 minutes to get there. She has an incredibly flexible schedule and even works weekends and evenings (I work FT so that's a big deal for me). Aside from that--she does fabulous cuts! If you're ever looking for an East Coast connection, feel free to get in contact with me. I don't meet a lot of NYers here. I'm from upstate, but it's still NY! I've been here for almost 6 years now. Hi N., I have been sruggling to find someone who cuts and colors for 5yrs. (I'm really picky) My daughter sent me to get my hair cut (I was going to color myself) to a girl in Overland Park. Not only was it the best cut of my life. but she took the time between clients and colored (got rid of the gray) plus hightlights. lowlights and..... well. I was a new women!! She is amazing. People continue to compliment on my hair and want to know who did it. I live in Lenexa, too! I have a card with a discount for you if you would like.
