Looking for a New Church
We are looking for a different church to attend in Springfield. We would like it to be a Baptist(Southern) or nondenominational church. We have tried several, but haven't found one that meets our needs yet.

We moved from 200 miles away to attend Truth Community Church at Broadway and Norton (over by the Fairgrounds). They'll actually be having a special speaker this Sunday night (July 27th) at 6pm and regular services are Sunday am at 9am & 11am. There's about 450-500 that attend, so all the kid/youth things are all in place and strong. Give it a try...you'll probably be surprised!

My family and I go to Northside Christian Church. It is located on N. Glenstone, set out in the country on 40 acres. It is a church that has been around for a long time, but just in the last year has had to build a much bigger church to house the growing number of members. The services are 9:15 and 10:15 and Sunday school during the same times. It is a nondenominational church and we love it. We moved to Missouri 6 1/2 years ago and have been to many churches and went to Northside one Sunday to listen to a neighbor sign and we have been going ever since. They are very family orientated and everyone is very friendly. I do hope you and you're family will come some Sunday and try it out. If you have any questions just let me know.

Hi J.! I know how hard it is to find a new church home, we tried several and finally landed(was led to)South Gate Baptist Church. Every single one of us, (husband,3 yr old and myself) REALLY love it! Our little boy just loves going to his classes and the teachers are all great! They also have the childrens area pretty secure. My honey doesn't get very involved and he's done more since being here than the 14 yrs we were at our other church. The pastor is great and he really has a heart for lost people and for taking care of the members as well. If you want to hear the Bible preached from the Bible and be involved and encouraged in your Christian walk then you ought to give South Gate a try. Here's the website and it has the hours and everything you'll need to know. www.southgate.org
Hope you find what you are looking for and we'll be praying your family finds the right fit for you.
God Bless,
T.

My family goes to Second Baptist, on East Battlefield, and we love it! John Marshall, the pastor, gives great sermons. They seem to really relate to day-to-day living.
The nursery is great and has a very secure check in/check out procedure. (Governor Blunt and his family attend!) They have well known services for the older kids and for teens, but I personally can't tell you about them.
Their Sunday school classes are grouped (married, singles, different age groups....) but of course anyone can attend any class they choose.
