Looking for a Mom's Group In/near Bethel Park

We just moved to Bethel Park from Texas, and I am a SAHM to a 10 month old baby girl. I'd really like to be able to get out and meet some people. Does anybody know of any mom's groups or something? I know there is MOPS, but I've been told that it is done for the year and doesn't start up again until fall, at least the one closest to my house which is at South Hills Assembly. Any ideas? Anybody in a similar situation?

What can I do next?

There is a group called Moms Together that meets at Bethany Lutheran Church a couple times a month. Bethany is located on the corner of South Park Road and Madison Avenue in Bethel Park. If you call the office they should be able to give you more info.

Hi B.!
Welcome to Pittsburgh!

You may want to try out Urban Mommies. While the group isn't based specifically in the South Hills, Urban Mommies is a great way for you to meet new friends who are also moms, explore all that your new city of Pittsburgh has to offer - not to mention a great reason to get out of the house!

Urban Mommies takes you and baby on STROLLER FRIENDLY exclusive, privately-led museum tours, historical neighborhood and gallery walks and other cultural adventures throughout the city.

We are a Pittsburgh-based and mom-owned business, so we completely know what life is like as a new mom in Pittsburgh.

There is a chapter of Mothers and More that meets in Peters Township Library and in Canonsburg. I am a member and it is the best thing I did for myself since having children.
They meet for Moms only twice a month and then they have Mom and kid activities almost weekly (more over the summer months) A few times a year they things planned for the whole family. You attend what you can and miss what doesn’t fit your schedule… very laid back. Check it out. You can come to any 2 meetings before you decide to join or not.

Good Luck, R.

I heard MOPS is available to you in bethel park, however you may want to try www.meetup.com
to find groups to join or there is always south park available to you which is close!

There is a group on meetup.com that I am a part of and it is has been wonderful. It is called Burgh Families & Friends. It does cost $10 a year, and you can join free for 2 weeks to try it out. There are over 300 members in the Pittsburgh area. I also live in the south hills and here are some meet ups that I went to...a farm tour, strawberry picking, lunch with some mom's and kids, and a play date at another member's house. The calender will have an (S) by the meetups in the south...(w) for west, and so on. There is also a dicsussion board to get advice from other moms. Hope that helps!

Hi B.,
I don't know of a mom's group- but I live in the South Hills *about 10 minutes from South Hills Village Mall. I'm a SAHM with a 6 month baby boy. I'd love to meet with you sometime, I know how being at home with the baby- sometimes you need some adult interaction. Send me an e-mail, if you'd like to get together sometime: ____@____.com
I moved here from North Carolina about 7 years ago, so I know what it's like being new to a city.

I have met a group of moms from going to the library programs
at the Bethel Park Library. Since your daughter is 10 months the age group of other kids her age is at story time on Thursday mornings. You don't have to register ahead of time. The program is called Book Babies and the library has it at 10am in the childern's department. Check out the Bethel Park Library website for more info.
