Looking for a Marriage Counselor/therapist in the Encino/Sherman Oaks Areas
My husband and I have been having a rough time lately. We are each not happy in our relationship right now but want to work it out. We are seeking referrals for a marriage counselor located in the Encino/Sherman Oaks and surrounding areas. We are looking for a counselor/therapist who will really challenge us to take a hard look at our relationship and give us tools to help us make things better. We also do not want to be in counseling/therapy forever; we know there is no "quick fix" and this stuff takes time, but we do not want to be in counseling/therapy forever. If any of you have any great referrals please pass them my way. Thanks so much!

I went to Barbara Trikonis - ###-###-####. We only went a couple of times but she was very helpful. I can't find her address but she is just off of Hayvenhurst just South of Ventura Blvd.
Good luck.

I don't have an actual name for you, but if you and your husband are willing to do the exercises together, the book "And Baby Makes Three" is a worthwhile read. The adjustment to your new roles as parents is very hard! I wish you all the luck, and commend you for trying to work it out!

There's a great book by Harville Hendrix called "Getting the Love you Want" based on Imago therapy. I would definitley check it out, it makes a lot of sense and has great exercises for you to do together. If you are interested in the Imago Theory, there's also practicing Imago Therapists in the San Fernando Valley, I don't know of one off hand but you may be able to do an internet search.
Good Luck!

My husband and I went through something similar a while ago so we saw Dr. Zeini, she's wonderful. In August I had a misscarriage and she helped us with that as well--again she was great. She is also flexible on her fee as well if you ask.

Hi C.!
My friend has referred a few couples to Wolfgang Keller at ###-###-####. He does exactly what you're asking for. He makes sure that you to are communicating well and gives you tools. Also, there is a definite end to it. You wouldn't be going forever. I've seen couples completely save their marriage.
Good luck!

My husband and I are seeing Fran Sloan. I don't have her number here at work but she is in what I think is Sherman Oaks, near the northeast corner of Burbank Blvd. and Sepulveda Blvd. Our insurance covers her, we have Blue Cross HMO. I had also seen Christy Taylor-Jones last year on my own and with a group of new moms. She is in Encino on Ventura Blvd.
