Looking for a Home Birth Midwife in the SF Area

I need to speak with a local midwife, either here in SF or Marin would be fine too. Any names, numbers or websites would be much appreciated!

Thank you,
R.

If you are looking for an amazing homebirth midwife I highly recommend Ellen Levitt and her partner at Wombservice Midwifery . Ellen is incredibly experienced and utterly competent in any way you could ask. She listens carefully and can answer any of your questions and concerns, plus she is gentle, empathetic, kind, and supportive.

Go to Natural Resources on Valencia Street in SF (between 24th and 25th I think). They have a "meet the midwives" event every month, as well as a list you can get. The midwives are from all around the Bay Area so you can find one close to you. The meet and greet event is great because you can sort of interview people you are interested in. They also have one for doulas.

I highly recommend Maria Iorillo (she did more than 800 births...).

Congrats on baby #3. I had two home births in the last 2 years and I had the pleasure of having Maria Iorillo deliver both my children! She is amazing and has been a mid wife for over 25 years. She really is great. Look on her wedsite

I know of a wonderful midwife in Berkeley/Oakland area--Noah Singman. If that doesn't work out, she could refer you to someone in SF or Marin, I'm sure. Her phone number is ###-###-####. Best wishes!

Great websites with references for all areas. I'm with Rites of Passage, and even though I haven't delivered yet, I couldn't ask for a better duo in Nancy Myrick and Ami Burnham! Doesn't hurt that Ami is also a lactation consultant. Happy birthing!
